My work brings me to many places throughout the world, and my favorite pastime is trying local restaurants wherever I find myself. L'Essential was a true pleasure. The proprietor is friendly, and happy to make recommendations. Being in France for the first time, I absolutely had to try the escargot. On his suggestion, for a true French experience, I also tried the Cassoulet Maison. Both were delicious, and I will definitely be visiting again whenever I am in the area.

Le'Essentiel was our favorite bistro in Paris. We visited it when we arrived and decided to return on our last day in Paris as it is so good. The food was amazing. Perfect texture and tasty. The waiter explained all the dishes and even showed us pictures of some ingredients that we didn't know. I definitively recommend and plan to return to this place someday.

I had a set menu of the daily special. The salmon and vegetables were the highlight as both were perfectly cooked and the sauce was absolutely perfect. The shrimp and avocado appetizer was excellent as well. The lowlight was the dessert of the day which was simply a little fruit chopped up and scooped on a plate - good but nothing special.
