I left a bit disappointed, mainly because the high expectations I had about it. Polpo sits in a great spot next to the Seine -literally in the Seine: not a boat but a platform on the river side- and enjoys of wonderful views and it is lovely decorated. It would.be a 5 star from this point of view. But then there are those small details that make the score go down: some waiters a bit dumb, some obvious mistakes when serving, slow -not consistent-, some dishes with poor presentation... To be very honest, I came with a big crowd which makes it more difficult and consistent, but such good restaurant shall be able to handle it. Horrible horrible food . I ordered the lobster and omg it was tiny , it was the size of large shrimp . The grilled lobster smelled horrible . I usually love lobsters , but this experience has scarred me , I’ll think twice before ordering a lobster again .The service was just okay . The only good thing about this place is it’s location and the calamari Frits . I really don’t know why the place was booked . Probably the food was better earlier and they use a ton of influencers . I’m sure you can find better seafood restaurants elsewhere in Paris . Also they added additional items to our bill , which if I wasn’t careful would have over payed for as well .
