Polpo Brasserie — Restaurant in Arrondissement of Nanterre

Trendy place.

Went there with gf and a few friends in the middle of summer and it was such a good experience. Beach sand at the Seine shore, it makes the difference. Prices are alright. Its a shame they dont have much choice for beer.

We ordered some pate and they have like 3 different kinds, really tasty and it changed a bit the typical options. They should have maybe some more stuff.

I came back, for the restaurant this time. Made a reservation quite easily using the online tool and went there with gf and a couple of friends.

The place is beautiful on the inside, with view over the Seine river (might not be the best one ever, but its worth it).

Service was really really professional, really enjoyed it. So fast and effective.

Food's quality is very good i gotta say. The only drawback is that you have to pay around 35 euros for a small main dish, alcohol-less cocktail and 2 fried shrimps (that was A JOKE). I would rather not recommend it overall because of this. The starter being 4 small fried shrimps did cost 10 euros, that's...

Went there full of hope to celebrate our anniversary after seeing their pictures on their instagram but left feeling very disappointed, almost robbed lol.

Visually a treat, no doubt.

Food was beautifully presented but super expensive for such small portions of tasteless food. Steak wasn’t cooked as asked, unsalted, flavourless and tiny. Octopus was also all that, and more! So chewy, felt like eating Crocs. Sides were super dry and, I insist, tasteless. Felt like industrial and frozen despite the promise of fresh and quality ingredients.

Drinks and desserts were alright.

Service was very slow & inefficient considering restaurant wasn’t busy at all, although staff was very nice.

Personal preference but smoking is allowed which is extremely unpleasant during a meal for non-smokers...

Globally very expensive for such poor quality of food,...

I left a bit disappointed, mainly because the high expectations I had about it. Polpo sits in a great spot next to the Seine -literally in the Seine: not a boat but a platform on the river side- and enjoys of wonderful views and it is lovely decorated. It would.be a 5 star from this point of view. But then there are those small details that make the score go down: some waiters a bit dumb, some obvious mistakes when serving, slow -not consistent-, some dishes with poor presentation...

To be very honest, I came with a big crowd which makes it more difficult and consistent, but such good restaurant shall be able to handle it.

I will probably come back, but rather for a romantic dinner.
