Cuisine Angeline — Restaurant in Avallon

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Avallon with friendly and professional staff. We were there on one of the coldest days in April (in like: forever). It was nice and warm inside and the wood barbecue outside gave the best wintersport feeling. Inside a warm modern design in a characteristic building. We enjoyed traditional entrees, barbecued main courses (in front of our window on the terasse!) with awesome mixed vegetables at the side. Unfortunately we had no room left for dessert, so skipped a third course. For consideration, if you are also not a big meat-eater: The barbecue dishes were quite exuberant. Our tip: order one of the lovely vegetarian dishes and one from the bbq and share together. Ow and, are you visiting on a cold day? Fine dining in a mansion courtyard of the small historic Bourgogne town. Very nice collection of wines. Dishes were authentic with a bit fusion with African trait. We ordered two serves (by mistake) of braised lamp shank and an entree of oxtail terrine. The terrine was fantastic; nicely spiced and rich beef flavor. The lamp shank was also good. A very lovely place for lunch! Gorgeous historic courtyard setting, delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. They also have a children’s menu and we’re very happy to make alterations to the children’s menu to suit our sons allergy.
