Chez Marie — Restaurant in Avignon

The food was actually fairly good but the service was terrible. Also we were seated at a dirty table (my elbows and my napkin stuck to it) next to piles of plastic bottle crates and other bar paraphernalia. The waiting staff were amateur at best - cleared our table to clean it when we complained that it was dirty, and then forgot to replace the glasses and bread basket, whisked the bread basket away when still half full, offered us a sweet before main course was served, no soap or towels in the toilet, took such a long time to take out order in the first place that we nearly walked out… I kind of wished we had now as the €80 bill did not reflect the experience. In a nutshell, it seemed to us like it was the manager’s night off and there was no one looking...

What to say....99%of the products served in this restaurants are from discount super markets, poor quality, not fresh at all and with a bad taste. The charcuterie platter was horrible with products probably cut days before. Very poor wine list. It's such a shame to find this quality of food in a country that is abundant of artisanal fresh products and great wines. The service was the only good thing, smiling...

Une pépite gastronomique au cœur d'Avignon !

J’ai récemment dîné Chez Marie, et ce fut une expérience exceptionnelle du début à la fin. L’ambiance est chaleureuse, la décoration raffinée et intimiste, et on s’y sent immédiatement bien.

Le service est un vrai point fort : l’équipe est souriante, dynamique et très attentionnée, toujours disponible pour conseiller et rendre le moment agréable. Malgré un commentaire négatif récent sur un serveur, je tiens à souligner que l’accueil et le professionnalisme du personnel sont, dans l’ensemble, irréprochables.

Côté cuisine, la carte change régulièrement, ce qui est un vrai plus pour découvrir de nouvelles saveurs à chaque visite. Lors de mon passage, j’ai dégusté le burger de chez Marie, un pur délice, avec une viande savoureuse et des accompagnements parfaitement maîtrisés. En entrée, le foie gras était tout simplement merveilleux, fondant en bouche et riche en saveurs.
