A l'ardoise — Restaurant in Avranches

Lovely time with our family in this restaurant facing the main church of the town. We have chosen to seat outside where we could enjoy the fresh air. Car parking (I could not see anything indicating that it was not free) was available just opposite the premises. The service was well executed and the food well priced with interesting 2 or 3 course menus. I personally enjoyed the "Camembert roti aux pomme poêlé" as a starter. I never had it before and that was delicious. However I haven't fully enjoyed as I anticipated the "Pavé de bœuf" presented with a "rosé" cooking that I ordered, but it was OK-ish. We may just have been unlucky during that evening because of a few sets of events for which it was not the restaurant's fault: Road nearby was noisy at times with neighbouring lound motorcycles passing by. Wonderful restaurant with excellent service. For the entree we had the salmons dome with cheese and it was sensational! For the plat, we had the rack of lamb and the bass, they both needed a little more flavor but they were cooked perfectly. The mash potatoes included was the best we’ve ever had! For the dessert we had the lemon curd with foamed cheese which again was superb! A great place and for three courses, 30 euros...

Nous sommes venus sans réservation préalable, heureusement que nous étions de bonne heure car sinon 10 minutes plus tard … L’accueil et le service sont remarquables, vraiment rien à redire. L’entrée, un demi camembert rôti et pommes poêlées, une découverte très intéressante et surtout rassasiante. Le plat, un rumsteck cuisson tataki, surprenant et très gourmand. Le seul bémol, trop de sel concernant le plat, entre la marinade et le rajout de sel en plus très excessif dans les pommes frites… 😕 dommage car sinon c’était succulent. Nous ne l’avons pas signalé en direct lors de la dégustation car, victimes de trop de restaurateurs qui le prennent mal alors qu’en réalité ce ne sont que des « critiques » permettant de progresser (mais encore faut-il accepter les « critiques »…) où de satisfaire la clientèle, donc nous avons remonté cette … en off lors du paiement, et là et bien on nous a dit qu’il aurait fallu le dire afin de nous changer l’assiette. Enfin de vrais restaurateurs à l’écoute de la clientèle, ça faisait très longtemps que nous n’avions pas fait une telle rencontre ! Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, vous êtes vraiment super ne changez rien.
