Buffalo Grill Avranches — Restaurant in Avranches

With hindsight we should have ate at the Burger King or Maccy D’s next door. No English menu which surprised us as we’ve always had one before. Where to start…. The flies and lots of them, it’s not difficult to eradicate them if you set your mind to it! The food… Terrible, with little taste and the presentation of a bad roadside cafe. The chilli con carne had little taste and was presented with a dollop of rice on top. My ribs (served barely warm) and half of a very small chicken dumped in a bowl with what purported to be some sort of gravy was vile. All this with some chips that were tasteless and bland. Also, to be fair the wings starter was okay. I didn’t complain at the time because I was so annoyed I just wanted to get out of the place and if I’d complained it would have led to a scene I wasn’t in the mood for especially with a language barrier. Drinks… at least these couldn’t be messed up I guess. We travel regularly in France but we won’t be visiting any more Buffalo Grills that’s for sure. No issues with the waitress at all. The restaurant looks really nice and inviting. The interior setting has American flair and nice group sized corners for private dining. And even though the waitress did not speak enough English, she was trying to be helpful and make the best out of it. She was friendly but has not asked for help by another waitress until she occasionally showed up and helped translate so we were able to place an order. The food itself was ok, but not more. The prices anticipate something else though, but the expectations could not be met here. What really bothered us was the arrangement of the food. It looked like it was thrown at the plates without any further thought. We have never experienced food looking like this ever before.

These resturants always come up at top of the class. Unfortunately I am disappointed as I know that this was a slip.up . My very good friend Andrew ordered the rack of pork which arrived stone cold ! Oh no thats never happened in this establishment ! I think this has been a slight error of judgement. I will put it down to this because this does not happen in this restaurant. The order was given for a side salad of carrot salad. The young lad who took our order was very efficient and knowledgeable but he fell at the last post , he subsequently added a side salad of carrot and callow in a very tiny dish that was rushed out the kitchen so as not to disappoint...
