We have eaten here a few times before. It's good food. We specifically came to Pézenas today to eat here...only this time brought our 15 month old son.
Upon entering the half empty restaurant, both my wife and I acknowledged the eyeroll from the waitress upon seeing the pram. She immediately said that they don't have a high chair or anything for kids (before we had even said a word). Living round here, we're quite used to that, and our boy can eat in his pram, so we agreed to continue trying to get fed.
Now the staring around the half empty restaurant starts...looking at where she could possibly accommodate us. Clearly hoping for us to eventually just melt away...but no...we wanted the galette... we'd come all this way!
Finally, stuffing us next to the front door, we settled in, and we got a menu. Then, a second menu. It's looking good for that galette complete!
While getting the boys lunch out his bag, he grabbed my menu off the table....can you imagine such a thing? I let him keep it, it's only a laminated A4 booklet I thought.
Quick as a whippet and as of from nowhere (I reckon she was hiding in the cupboard behind me) a small and grumpy, yet very agile lady whisked passed our table violently ripping the menu out of my boys hands, while muttering obscenities under her breath (yes, we speak french) and scuttling away to from wherever she came from. It was a very odd and surreal moment.
It's clear at this point we're not welcome...pretty shocked we decide to get up and leave and spend our money elsewhere.
Now, nothing major happened here, just incredible rudeness and cold service. I have run bars and restaurants my entire life. I know kids can be a pain...but it's part of life. Today's performance was some 'fawlty towers esque' behaviour.
This restaurant might as well have a no kids allowed sign on the door.
I realise the irony that by writing this review, I'm helping them keep families out...but they really do deserve the...

We arrived to an empty restaurant and had to wait nearly 10 minutes to be seated! I had to request a jug of water 3 times before it was brought to the table. When we asked for the toilets we were simply pointed to a curtain with barely a word. There was em very little veggie options but there was a fish one. A member of our party chose that as no meat was mentioned in the list of ingredients. It came with meat on it (for decoration) when we stated we were vegaterian we were told we should have chosen one without fish but if necessary they would take the meat off from that one. No replacement offered or new crepe! We were wrong to have ordered that! The crepes were under filled and barely warm! The combination of high cost and poor service, I would never return again! Such a shame the decor was lovely! So...
Read morePros: very good choice & taste of both gallette and crepes. Very tasty cider too. The setting is interesting with stone walls and nice arches. Prices are ok. Cons: the service. Our waitress was very slow and forgot two of the things we had ordered. We asked to try the cider before ordering our 0.5l portions (we had the choice between dry and sweet) and were told we could not (the cider came out of a bottle in...
