My wife and I visited the Masion Conti restaurant in Pezenas as it had glowing reviews, I honestly don't know what happened when we ate there?
The service was terribly slow, we waited for 70 minutes to get our main course. There was no apology about the length of the wait, I had the veal and my wife the sea bream. The veal was bland and tasteless, the sea bream was under cooked and my wife felt un safe eating it, when the waitress came to collect the plates, she made a comment about the fish needing to be more cooking. But after taking the dish back to the kitchen came back and told us it was two colour fish and it was cooked properly. It clearly wasn't, around the edges of the fish was white and the centre pink, it was clearly under cooked.
What got us was that the restaurant was not even full, the outside tables were taken but there were around 6 empty tables inside. God knows what the service would have been like if it was fully booked.
I will be avoiding this restaurant in the future. A decent restaurant would accept it's failings and acknowledge them, I am sure there will be some backlash from the restaurant but my review is honest and from the...

What a gem this place is!! Not in the busy part of town. We were looking for a place to eat and just stumbled on it but what a find! Melanie and her husband run the place and it is divine. The menu is interesting and changes regularly depending on what is available. It is mostly locally sourced products. The wines are also locally sourced and really good. We loved the chardonnay so much we drove to the next town to the winery to get more. For now they are not open on weekends for a wonderful reason. They have two small children and they said that the weekend is for family. What more can I say. If you are in Pezenas...do NOT miss...

On commence par le cadre, une terrasse dans la ruelle d'un quartier pittoresque qui contribue à un cadre intimiste tout en étant à l'extérieur avec quelques décorations qui annoncent la couleur.
L'accueil est chaleureux et convivial. On se sent à l'aise et surtout les bienvenus ! Le service est impeccable, de l'apéro au dessert, tout est expliqué au moindre détail, peut-être un peu trop... mais l'envie de bien faire et surtout le ton chaleureux de la serveuse/gérante est agréable et on se laisse guider sans broncher comme des écoliers face au professeur.
La carte est simple, d'inspiration et pas très vaste (ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas dans la région). Le choix est vite fait!!! La qualité quantité !!! De bon augure !
Les produits travaillés sont locaux, bio et pleins de saveur. Tout n'est pas parfait ( assaisonnement parfois trop peu présent ) mais on ressent un travail de passionnés et ÇA....ça fait du bien et cela compense largement un manque d'assaisonnement que je peux de rectifier à mon goût.
La cuisine est génereuse et savoureuse. On ne fait pas semblant d'être autre chose. On y mange bien!
Après une entrée plus que copieuse et un plat qui ne l'est pas moins, je suis repu. Mais comment résister aux desserts que notre hôte propose aux tables voisines... je tends l'oreille et me laisse tenter par leur fabuleuse mousse au chocolat...UN RÉGAL! Parole de belge accro au Choco!
Conclusion ? On y va pour le cadre, l'accueil et surtout le cuisine qui se veut simple mais délicieuse! On y passe un moment (en famille pour moi) délicieux et on se laisse éclabousser de leur PASSION et de leur SYMPATHIE.
