Bahia Beach — Restaurant in Bayonne

As pictured below we ordered (€48 total) : Dos de cabillaud (Atlantic cod) Agneau d'orient (oriental lamb, with rice instead of the usually served potatoes) Crème brûlée

Both the cod and lamb were cooked to perfection and all the accompaniments were full of flavour.

The staff also performed later in the evening with live music. Was very entertaining and everyone joined in to cheer them on. A very nice atmosphere.

To add to this, the view of the local point break (Parlementia) and surroundings is absolutely stunning! Would highly recommend to go in the late evening! Picture doesn't do it justice. (sunsets are spectacular, but obviously the restaurant is also busy so book a table!)

The only thing I could fault, was the fish being slightly over seasoned...

This might be one of Biarittz' most romantic places. Park your car and walk through a tunnel of dense trees to discover the open ocean. Get there when the sun goes down and spot a couple of surfers at the beach. The restaurant lies near the trail. It is decorated in the lounge hut with a French twist. The staff is friendly, even by the end of the evening. We reserve a table before we get to this beautiful place.

Nous sommes arrivés à 11h30, les cuisines n’étaient pas encore ouvertes mais nous avons quand même eu une table sans réservation. La serveuse était très gentille ainsi que le serveur au comptoir pour nos boissons en attendant nos commandes.

Nous avons été surprise de l’accueil d’un monsieur, que nous pensons être le patron. Venu à notre table nous demander si nous allions manger ici, avions nous mis notre nom sur le cahier, est-ce qu’on nous an donné cette table, etc. sur un ton loin d’être aimable. Nous dérangions clairement.

Durant le repas, ils nous a fixé de longues périodes et sans savoir ce qui a été dit, plusieurs personnes se retournaient pour nous regarder, ce n’est franchement pas très agréable, nous habitons Biarritz et tout ce qu’on voulait c’était manger moules frites.

Et les moules sont en fait sans frites. En supplément. Je ne pouvais sentir autre chose que l’ail dans mes moules, j’en ai donc manger 5/6, mon amie avait une vingtaine de crabe, mais ça, ce n’est pas forcément la faute à quiconque.

J’ai ensuite oublié mes clés sur place, en appelant le restaurant, après un “il y a une nana qui cherche ses clés” ils m’ont dit qu’elles n’étaient pas là. Nous avons quand même décidé de revenir car nous n’étions allé nul part d’autre. Et mes clés étaient sur la table où nous avions mangé. Qui avait été débarrassé et d’autres clients étaient installés.

En globalité, Bahia Beach me fait penser à un de ces restaurants où si l’on ne connaît pas le patron, on dérange. Ou peut être vaut-il mieux être...
