This place has some of the nicest pizza I've ever had, and it definitely also has the nicest owner. He was charming and generous and told lots of funny and touching stories straight from the heart. I had the vegetarian "Pizza du Moment" (Basque style tartiflette with smoked tofu) and it was seriously delicious. Other family members had the Pondicherry, the Vegetarian and the standard "du Moment", all of which got a resounding "thumbs up" from our group. We washed our pizzas down with excellent locally-brewed Landberry unfiltered IPA, local "Euskola" and a very nice rosé. Some of us had pineapple and mint ice lollies for dessert as well. We were also offered a delicious local Basque wild plum digestif in the house. The owner told us that he opened last year, realising his dream of running his own enterprise. Based on what we experienced, I'm sure he will make a huge success of it! If he can maintain the same quality at scale he should open...

Read moreWe stopped in at Chez Boleto as it was convenient to our hotel. Fantastic!!! The pizzas we had were exceptional and the local beer their staff recommended was very good. Being from Canada, our French was a bit rusty, but they met us halfway with more than acceptable English. The owner was very personable and the staff very welcoming. Would highly recommend grabbing a pizza or two...but eat it there as the conversation and company...
