Jap’Sushi Belfort — Restaurant in Belfort

Given the high reviews, I decided to dine at Central Sushi Belfort tonight.

Service 5/5 Although my French is terrible, I was still able to communicate with a little bit of English with the staff there. They were extremely friendly and welcoming which made traveling and dining in another country enjoyable.

Atmosphere 4/5 Space is clean and bright. Decor is modern and aesthetically pleasing. I am not familiar with the culture but a/c or fans are not common so it was a little uncomfortable while dining.

Overall Food 3/5. If I had to rate Japanese authenticity, 1/5.

Central Yakitori 3/5 Yakitori should only be chicken but this came with 2 beef skewers comprised of a thin slice of beef wrapped around a piece of cheese and 3 chicken skewers. Cheese and beef is not a take I’ve seen for Japanese cuisine but possibly a French variety? It was still pretty tasty. The chicken was juicy but a little bland with a few cartilage pieces attached.

Tempura Crevette The tempura was an ebi furai versus a tempura ebi. It came out fresh and hot. The batter was thinly coated which gave it a nice crispiness. It came with a mayonnaise chili sauce which was different as I expected a tempura sauce. Overall this dish 4/5.

California Frizz Crevette deep fried shrimp roll with avocado deep fried in a panko coating. The shrimp was very tiny in it. Overall 3/5 in taste, it wasn’t bad but nothing special.

Other notes: Loved the metal chopsticks. There was two of us dining and we only had little sauce dishes to eat from and no actual plate or bowl, that made dining a little awkward. Our meal came with a bowl of rice. It was nice and hot. They offered a sweet soy sauce and a regular which was great. Pickled ginger and wasabi were considered supplemental add-ons which is very different from the standard ones I am used to getting back home at no charge.

We really enjoyed. The sushi was great, tasty, wellcooked rice. Sashimi tuna flash was awesome as the fish was superb. Also great gyoza. I would maybe appreciate greater sellection of ingredients (1 more fish/octopus, roe, daikon)

The staff was excellent! Exceptionally nice and attentive, even to us as french-non-speaking. Fast serving.

Clean and cosy place. Liked the metal chopsticks. It would be helpful having a small plate each, as it was a little weird eating and catching crumbs above just a napkin.

And what was mising is a greater sellection of drinks. For me a game changer is always a home-made drink (e.g. homemade ginger limonade, cold jasmine tea)- frugal, but congenial. Being able to try saké would...

Nous voulions commander chez Central Sushi en livraison à domicile, voyant la différence de prix entre ubereats et le site de restaurant : nous sommes passés sur le site. Impossible de sélectionner la livraison à domicile au moment du paiement. Au téléphone on nous dit que « c’est normal il faut appeler, et que la commande arrivera dans 20/25min ». Parfait ! Après 50 minutes d’attente on nous dit que « le patron » s’occupe de deux commandes et que celle de Dorans est livrée avant la notre donc on doit attendre Apres 1h16 d’attente le livreur nous appelle enfin. Sauces manquantes, en revanche celle de la salade de chou entièrement renversée au point de déchirer l’intégralité du sac. Je ne parle pas de la taille ridicule des sushis. CERISE SUR LE GATEAU : les prix appliqués sont bien plus chers que ceux du site, je vous laisse voir la photo. Sans parler du TPE qui ne fonctionne pas, ce qui implique un aller retour du livreur, ou des trucs non-identifiés qui croustillent dans les sushis (sans oignons frits lol)… En gros, nous ne sommes pas passés par ubereats. On s’est fait avoir et on nous à seulement fait grâce des 3€ de livraison au lieu de 6,4€ (écart de prix + frais de livraison) Car oui, pour avoir un alignement de prix « il faut prendre un rdv sur place avec le responsable » Merci au jeune livreur qui lui a été compréhensif et poli :) Allez au Kanzaki, livraison rapide, personnel sympa et arrangeant, quantité double 👌 Dommage qu’ils soient en vacances la prochaine fois on attendra...
