La Detente Gourmande — Restaurant in Blois

Charming, small, home cooked place. The service was exceptional and so kind. Also, multiple vegetarian dishes on the menu. We are not vegetarians by any stretch but you are in the Loire for any stretch of time you’ll know this area is not vegetable friendly. After we did a week of all meat menus (even the appetizers!), it was an gem to discover a place with multiple vegetable options - including quite simply and deliciously, a plate of vegetables!

Absolute gem of a place; so glad we stumbled upon it. Small, family-run eatery - we felt we were eating at somebody's house, not at a commerce. For a small enterprise, excellent choice of dishes - and produce was just soo fresh. Super-friendly service from owners and superb value for money; this the sort of place you dream about finding when heading out to France on the ferry Everything prepared to perfection; can't wait...

Excellent restaurant and exceptional service. The hospitality is impeccable, inviting. The view is not as nice as those restaurants on the river but you can image the view from the street and listen to passing cars as you eat. Make sure you get here early because there are upto 30 people waiting inline. You can't imagine what you would be missing if you don't dine at this restaurant! Nothing bUT a 5...
