Hiked here for the views of Chamonix and Mont Blanc in the background. It is a perfect spot for pictures of the ville, Mont Blanc, and with a good lens, Aguille du Midi. We knew the Chalet de la Floria wasn't open today, BUT we're giving 5 stars because everyone we talked to in Chamonix raved about the food, location, and service. I'm including pictures of the info board at the hiking path entrance (pic date is 10-Jun-2025). Please note the sign says, "Pas de CB (No bank card = Cash only). Zoom into the pics to see the price list, and you can get an idea of how many Euros to bring. Bon courage on the walk from Chamonix. It is steep, rocky, and uphill all the way. I estimate a 7-10% grade most of the way. There may be small children or kids pushing bikes uphill that pass you. Fear not, fellow hikers, press on and drink your water (bring plenty!).. Allow at least an hour or more for the hike. Hiking poles optional but recommended. Water draining off the surrounding heights will offer photo opportunities and a chance to get your shoes...

Appalling management with two dogs off the lead. It's a restaurant, not a zoo.

One, it's a question of cleanliness. Two, not everyone likes dogs. Some are allergic, some are even scared of them. Your dog nearly damaged my 5000euro camera when it was on a tripod nearby. It was also clear I wasn't comfortable with your dogs, so what did you do? Let them run around some more rather than leash them or put them inside.

You exercised 0 control over your two dogs that would growl and bark menacingly at those coming along the path.

Don't take your dogs to work, or keep them inside or on a very short leash outside. Have some...

The trail path is very steep mainly going up for an hr; more of an intermediate short hike. Cafe has a nice mountain view but nothing much can be seen further down due to the trees. Nice hot chocolate and home made pie welcomed after the climb. Had an awkward encounter with the owner when i only had €8 change to my €9 bill, and no change at the place for my bigger note, then she proceeded to tell me off that it is to be expected that a cafe in the mountain does not have that kind of change. Sorry. Take note no card only cash…. and...

I visited the Chalet when they were closed so I was unable to sample their food. However, the menu was written on a chalk board that was posted outside and I'm sorry that they weren't open; it looked amazing. The Chalet was extremely beautiful from the outside with lots of flower beds and natural views. The hike up was fairly steep but not too long; totally worth the effort. Can't wait to go back when they're open.
