Cuisine: Chinese & Thai Date of Visit: 2024-2025
A classic Chinese-Thai restaurant is always a tempting choice for comfort food, and this spot delivers on most fronts. With a wide variety of traditional dishes and flavors that satisfy, it’s a dependable option if you’re craving the familiar tastes of sweet and savory Asian cuisine. While a few areas could use improvement, the experience was overall enjoyable.
ATMOSPHERE
The restaurant has a warm, inviting vibe with understated décor typical of Chinese and Thai eateries. It’s clean, cozy, and functional—nothing too flashy, but it works for the setting. The service is efficient, and while there’s little interaction with the staff, they get the job done without delay or errors. Over the time we tested multiple dishes but I’ll cover only a small fraction of them.
FOOD
• APPETIZERS Chicken Spring Rolls (Nems) These crispy delights hit the spot. The filling was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the accompanying dipping sauce added just the right touch of tanginess. A great way to start the meal. (Rating: 4/5)
• MAIN COURSES Sweet and Sour Chicken The sweet and sour chicken was a standout dish. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with the sauce perfectly balancing tangy and sweet flavors. A classic executed well. (Rating: 4/5)
Bobun The bobun, a classic Vietnamese dish often found in Thai-Chinese restaurants, was fresh and satisfying. The mix of vermicelli noodles, crunchy vegetables, and marinated beef was well-prepared, though the flavors could’ve been a bit bolder. (Rating: 4/5)
Five-Spice Duck The five-spice duck was aromatic and cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and tender meat that practically melted in my mouth. The blend of spices was subtle but effective, elevating the dish without overpowering it. (Rating: 4/5)
Peking Duck The Peking duck (or lacquered duck) was another highlight. The rich, slightly sweet glaze on the crispy skin paired beautifully with the soft meat. It was served with thin pancakes and hoisin sauce, making it a fun and flavorful dish to assemble yourself. (Rating: 4/5)
Beef Sautéed with Onions The beef sautéed with onions was hearty and satisfying. The onions were caramelized nicely, and the beef was tender and well-seasoned, though the dish leaned a bit oily. (Rating: 4/5)
• SIDES The noodles and rice were solid accompaniments—well-cooked and lightly seasoned to complement the main dishes. Nothing mind-blowing, but they served their purpose well.
SERVICE
Service here is straightforward and efficient. Staff are polite and ensure your order is correct, but don’t expect too much in the way of conversation or enthusiasm. Dishes are served hot and in a timely manner, which is what matters most.
