Room - the rooms are typical, small. Quite a few hangers. The shoe horn is missing here. 2 towels for 2 people. There is no toilet brush in the toilet. There is an unstable flow of water in the shower and it constantly changes temperature. Windows do not insulate sound at all. We hear everything that happens outside. The sound cannot be changed to English on the TV. One button on the controller does not work. The double bed is actually 2 beds next to each other, which move and separate each night. Then our mobile phones fall into the hole between the beds. But otherwise it's clean here. The table is just for one laptop with a mouse. There are enough electrical plugs. The bed is comfortable. The heating can be adjusted. Wifi works great. The cleaning service come every day.
Breakfast - they are quite poor. Vegetables are completely missing. A couple of pieces of fruit are available. The coffee is from a machine and not very good. The selection of pastries is great, there are also jams and marmalades. Of course muesli and cornflakes. Fried eggs, sausages, eggs, butter, milk (also delacto), cheeses and one kind of ham cut into strips. The tea is excellent. If you're lucky, fresh juice is also available, not just the one from the machine. No ketchup or mustard. You have to ask for a big spoon for muesli.
Lunch - for 13.50 euros you can have a starter and main meal or main meal and dessert. It is not an open buffet and you can only load your plate once. Coffee is also included in the price. You will automatically receive water and bread. The selection was sufficient. Definitely better than breakfast. However, the food was not marked with allergens and I think that a vegan or a person with lactose intolerance would have a problem choosing.
Overall, considering the price, I rate it well. The staff is very kind and smiling. They will always help, show, explain... Despite the fact that the hotel is undergoing reconstruction, I did not see too many problems. Again, the wifi is great. Breakfast is poor. Lunch is...
Read moreOn the Saturday night, I put the air-con on in Room 422 and it soon started dripping a lot of water on to the floor. It was loud, plus I didn't want to flood the hotel so I had to turn the air-con off, on a very hot night. It was late (01.00) so I didn't want to try and sort it out with reception at that time. The carpet under the air-con unit was pitted with drip-marks so it appears that this fault had been going on for some time.
I reported this in the morning, and the receptionist, to her credit, came up to the room for a look. She agreed to move me to another room and she said they would phone me later with details of which room I was now in. I packed my bag and left it on the bed.
When I returned at 23.00, not having received a phone call, I found that my stuff was still on the bed. The receptionist just gave me a keycard for Room 421 so that I could move my bag (which was fine).
Other than that, the stay was fine although there was a very drunk man in the bar one evening who shouldn't have been served as he was a complete nuisance to everyone else.
Breakfast was good, although you kept getting warned about the risk of bags, etc being stolen. I appreciate you have to do this, but it makes you worried about the local area (which seemed like a nice area to me). I ate in a couple of the local restaurants and they were very nice. Generally I liked the area and the J.H. Lartigue tram stop was not far away.
I would stay here again as the hotel is good value and in a good location, but this particular stay was...
Read moreFamily of 4 adults, 2 rooms. We had just stayed at an ibis hotel in Rome and were pleased. Customer service across the two day stay was not welcoming from the moment we checked in to the moment we left we saw one smile. Breakfast was a joke compared to what they offered in Rome, no labels out on the first day, they were out the second morning. Coffee machines worked well. Food limited to mostly breads, very wet eggs, and only sausage links for a meat with some limited “lunch meats”. Just not what we expected post our Ibis hotel in Rome. Nice hot water for the shower but the temperature wasn’t consistent. AC was functional. Excellent blinds for rooms. Not helpful at all in getting transportation away from hotel, sharp contrast to service given at the other Ibis location. If we come to Paris again, we would choose to go elsewhere. Location is in a good location to two of their train/Amtrak services. Buyers beware, you can’t get a taxi from...
