It was cold, with a stormy breeze that had just picked up. We arrived around 8:30 PM, about 30-35 minutes before closing time. To keep things simple for the kitchen, we all ordered the same dish — three adults and three kids.
We were told that only an outdoor table was available. However, when I went to the restroom with my youngest daughter, who is 5 years old, I noticed that there was still a table for four and a table for two inside... right next to eachother. I politely asked if it would be possible to move those tables together, but I was flat-out refused “for circulation reasons”… which is complete nonsense, as those guests were almost finished eating and the detour was only about 80 cm. The table was also the second to last in the row, so the impact would have been minimal.
The children were freezing due to the wind but the floor manager — who clearly has zero empathy or sense of customer care — let his arrogant ego get in the way.
We’ll be here for another two weeks this year, but they won’t see me back. Truly a place with no customer focus and absolutely no heart. A real shame.
Furthermore food quality compared to the price is really low so it's not only this year we won't...

We stopped in Wimeruex on the way back to the tunnel, on a cold weekday lunch day time so this being a seaside summer town... options were limited but we were so thankful we stumbled upon Le Sable Rouge!
The staff were lovely and welcoming and although the menu is quite small, there was more than enough choice.
We went in for mussels but then saw a gentleman across the tables eating one of the Welsh dishses that they love in this area. Think Welsh Rarebit on steroids.
We ordered one with cheese and egg, one with the salmon, and a fish and chips.
The Welshes were awesome! Absolute cheese heaven. Melty tangy cheddar with bread, ham and egg with a side of chips.... what's not to love? Part cheese on toast, part croque madame, part fondue.
It's an cholesterol busting as you imagine, and it was brilliant. I'd order it again in a heartbeat.
We sat in the closed in decking looking out at the windsurfers, and it was just a lovely lunch that was warm and filling, with good coffee and good service.
What more could...
Read moreThe most impolite restaurant manager I have ever met! This man clearly does not like tourists, which is a problem in a touristic village. We asked a table for 2, we are told in half an hour there will be room. The place has a giant sign that says "no reservations", so we say ok, we go for a coffee elsewhere and return half an hour later to then be scoffed and belittled by this same arrogant person, who claims not only we should have made reservations, we should also have waited...
