It was a very quiet day in Bourges as we were passing through the town. One of us had a craving for Indian food so we looked up options and found Indigo on a quiet non-descript side street off from the main shopping area. We were very warmly greet by Naween, the principal, who invited us to sit at the outdoor table set up across the street from the restaurant. We were the only ones eating at the time (it was an early lunch) and Naween a treated us wonderfully; as if we were having a family dinner together.
Being familiar with Indian cuisine we told him what we liked and he warmly smiled and hurried back to the kitchen, returning shortly after with metal cafeteria trays of various sauces (like raita, etc..) and plates after plates of food...including butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, onion bhaji, biryani, and more. It was a feast and much more than we thought. Everything was truly excellent (which is not what you'd expect in a relatively small town like Bourges).
For both the meal and the hospitality we can not recommend Indigo enough...you should definitely...
Read moreWe chose the restaurant by chance and were so happy we did! We came at opening time and were lucky to have a table, it filled very quickly after 7 PM. There is a fixed menu and every dish was a delight for the taste buds! There were more dishes planned than we had room for, so make sure you understand what the menu contains! The sauces with the papadam are freshly made and some of the best I have ever tasted. And at the end of the meal the chai was the best I have tasted in my life. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Highly...

Notre expĂ©rience a Ă©tĂ© dĂ©cevante.
