Palais Jacques Coeur — Attraction in Bourges

One of the most dazzling piece of medieval architecture, in a country that boasts Notre Dame and countless others. The intriguing personality of Jacques Coeur is reflected in the most exquisitely sculpted medieval scenes, the maze of corridors, the elegance of the reception rooms. Its uniqueness is due to it being one of the only example of Gothic architecture for laymans (as opposed to churches and castles), and the magnificence of the interiors, where you can even imagine the Renaissance coming. This is quiet unique and huge. It was a private home. But the owner was even richer than the king. And exact that's it how it looks - posh. But the selfguided tour, I recommand the audioguide for 3€, is it worth. The rooms are mostly clean, but some are really nice painted or have wooden ceilings. You have to climb a bit stairs, but take your time. I spend 2 hours, but 1 hour is absolutely makeable to see all rooms. Although I don't know much about architectural styles, I know about this palace that it fascinated me. The beauty of the facade of the inner courtyard simply takes your breath away. I went to visit it on a Thursday morning, I don't like it when it's crowded, I love to admire these beauties in peace. The price was €8.
