Café Mapple Coffee — Restaurant in Caen

I was sitting at the only table available, for four people, and waiting for my partner that was parking to come and I was asked to move when a group of four came in after me.

I had already ordered the brunch and planned to stay. We were looking forward to being in a Canadian themed establishment as Canadians. I made an effort to speak french to explain that we ordered brunch and my partner was coming (I am fluent in French) but I was asked to move.

I can appreciate that there were more of them but it was the manner in which I was asked to leave. It didn't feel welcoming. I cancelled my order, chose a couple of sandwiches to go and left. Obviously... there was no where to sit. I understand the staff were French but when I left, there was no feeling that this place represented Canada at all. Canada is more than maple.

This place is incredible. Me and my partner came for a 3 night/4 day stay to Caen and we were staying just across the road from this coffee shop, we went in for the first time on the first morning after a long drive over from the U.K. and after that, we vowed to come back daily because of how amazing the coffee is. The 2 workers pour their heart and soul into every drink they make and they are the sweetest, kindest and most genuine people we met during our entire stay. These people will be one of the main reasons we return back to Caen. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for looking after us throughout the duration of our stay...see...

Just walked in, and we were in for a real treat. The best service we have had so far, the nicest staff who asked all the right questions to make sure we got what we wanted.
