Via Marine Le Bistrot — Restaurant in Calvi

Very good food but the most disorganised run restaurant I ever seen. It’s a small restaurant and all waiters are running like headless chicken they are just all over the place and arrogant too. If better organised the place would run so much better which is a shame the food was so good (kudos to the kitchen). We had to wait for 15min for our order to be taken, then the food and we had to repeat our aperitif order twice as the waiter kept asking even though he wrote it down. Then the bottle of water we ordered never arrived even though we had to chase 5 times with that same waiter even though we were about 5sec walk from the bar where all the water bottles were standing there to be collected. At the end we never got our water bottle !!! To pay you have to queue at the bar and wait for the manager as she is the only one allowed to take payment or seat people and at a busy restaurant that doesn’t work. Doesn’t she trust her staff to taken payment?! Had to wait 10min at the bar with other tables to pay. Everybody was complaining in about the bad service and the disorganisation the couple next to me waited 25mim for their coffee. We paid and complained to the restaurant manager lady she said it’s not an excuse but we were busy, I said to here that was an excuse as having to ask 5 times for water when I could have reach it and pick it up myself is no acceptable and she agreed but then again mentioned or we are busy. We complain about why we have to queue for paying she couldn’t explain. Clearly the restaurant is run by amateurs and not professionals. She couldn’t care less. As the leader of the team that would explain the rest !!! I recommend it for the food but not for the service or experience. Very frustrating place to eat even more with so much choice...

Our meal was decent. However, the service was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. The waiter dropped a deviled egg on top of me, leaving my clothes completely ruined, and did not even acknowledge it. No apology, no offer of a wet wipe, any sort of courtesy whatsoever, not even a look towards me. To make matters even worst, he decided that his best option would be to ignore our table and stop serving us completely after the incident, making it impossible for us to order more beverages and leaving it to his colleague to bring us the bill. Beware, you may go in for a meal but will leave with a shirt (that costs way more than the price of the meal for 2 there) ruined with 2 different mayo stains. What a...

Went for: dinner for two

Ate: menu corse x 2

Good: friendly service, Creme brûlée dessert. They have a terrace overlooking the marina ad well (which we saw too late)

Average: starter and fish main.

Not so good: salad and pizza weren't the best. Nothing "corse" about the pizza. They put a lot of tables outside, once you sit down, you don't move much. Can feel claustrophobic.

We should have gone for the dishes of the day. The menu corse is a tourist trap and we fell for it. It sounds much fancier than what it is.

Recommend for: family with kids. Avoid...
