The one star is for the single member of staff who had empathy for the situation and stood out above all the others. For the other staff we encountered, shame on you to say you work in hospitality. We are staying further down the coast and had dinner early and decided to walk to the harbour. We saw the restaurant and the sign that noted that Moules were 1kg per person. There were 5 of us and 3 of our party did not want to eat any more but wanted a cocktail or glass of wine. My brother in-law and I were keen to have a portion of moules each. Our intention was never to share 2 portions between 5. With what happened next, I wish we’d made this clear when we asked for a table. We were asked to sit in the bar and wait for twenty minutes, no problem, we ordered a drink at the bar, which didn’t seem a problem at this point. After circa 5 minutes a table was free. The drinks arrived promptly. A waitress arrived and we asked for two portions of moules for the two of us to eat. The response we got was rather unexpected and quite a shock. The waitress had no control of herself or of her short temper and rather ungracefully said “no, 5 people, 5 mains”. I tried to explain we’d eaten already and just two of us wanted to eat. We had a language barrier. I do not speak French. I don’t expect the team to speak English, we are in Corsica, but I don’t expect to be spoken to in the tone or manner I received. A waitress who spoke English was asked to come over to us. She explained the rule. We accepted it and asked if we could return to the empty bar seats and eat there. She happily agreed. We moved, the moules came and we ate them. We were sat at the bar stools at a high table in front of the bar. It was easy and simple and could have been suggested when our order was first given to the initial waitress. We enjoyed our drinks. The friendly waitress came and asked if everything was okay. We thanked her. Then I witnessed a second example of incredibly rude hospitality’. No one came to us or looked at us. My wife went to the bar to ask to order more drinks. One of the younger waiters, a guy with blonde hair, who I hope reads this and learns something about himself, then turned and raised his voice at my wife, ‘SIT DOWN AT YOUR TABLE, SOMEONE WILL COME TO YOU TO TAKE YOUR ORDER!’ She did what you asked., 10 minutes passed, no one came. We were sat less than 2 metres in front of your bar. What a shame you nor any of the team followed up on your request. Why did you have to raise your voice at my wife like a teacher in a class room? Why would you be so rude? Why would you be aggressive to guests?? What had we done wrong to be treated like you treated us? You made it feel awkward. I found the waitress who dealt with us at the table, explained the situation and asked for the bill. Her colleague brought it, no apology, no care, no kindness. We paid We left. I very rarely write reviews as I understand hospitality can be brutal and sometimes people get it right and sometimes wrong. But boy did you guys get it wrong. Your service was so far off the mark, here I am, paragraphs in to a rant of how unhappy this experience made us all feel. If those who dealt with us read this, please think about this in the future and don’t treat others in the same way. You really let yourselves down and the profession of hospitality. You may have brothers and sisters, Mums and Dads. We could have been those people. Would you have treated them...
Read moreWhat can I say: Our dinner started well, but the evening turned out to be dissaponting. That was only due to the service... The food was good, although the "moules" could have been a little tastier. But what was really annoying was the waiting time for everything, although we were already at the restaurant at 19:00, when it was still nearly empty. It took them 20 minutes to bring the drinks, and another 35 minutes to bring the entrée. Then another 40 minutes to bring the main course. When the waiter took our dirty dishes, I said to him that I wanted to pay immediately, because we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes, until he would stop at our table again by accident. He nodded, went away and never came back. After another 15-20 minutes of fruitless waving I was so annoyed that I got up and went to the bar myself and paid directly at the bar. We spent nearly 2 hours here with only 2 persons, which is clearly too long for our...
Read moreWithin 3 years I had approximately 10 to 15 meals at "Le Nautic" and they were all above average - very good quality, very nice taste and great choices. The location is amazing - on one side you have an overall view of the harbor of Calvi, on the other side you watch people passing by and enjoying the summer breeze and the vibes of Calvi. Service of Le Nautic is always polite, always fast and professional, even when completely full there's no hassle -I simply love this place! I recommend the "Moules" and my favorite is "Moules a la Corse" - cooked with the Cap Corse liquor, Gnocchis, Entrecote, Salad with baby octopus or with baked goat cheese and especially the deserts - yummy. I will always go there whenever I would have the opportunity to be on this...
