Du Verre à l'Assiette — Restaurant in Carpentras

We last visited in 2010, when it was fine, and before that in 2007 and 2004, when it was really very good. However, having returned this year, it was truly awful. Firstly, if you have children, be warned, there is no children's menu: my 3 year old had to rely on bread (which was stodgy and tasteless, and he rejected even this). Every table was full, but there were only two waiters, the food took an age to arrive and there was no one to take further orders. The helping sizes for main courses were on the stingy side, the tartines were tasteless and soggy, and everything lacked seasoning. We were charged nearly full price for my daughter's half size main course and the sorbet came doused in spray can whipped cream: revolting. I liked the terras and the location, but the food and the service wasn't brilliant. I had to ask for water, we had to wait forever to get a bit of bread, while we had 3 young children with us, and on top of that the bill contained a mistake, charching 25 euros for a child menu instead of 12,5 euros. Une expérience catastrophique…

Nous avons déjeuné un beau midi du 27 juillet dans ce restaurant. La vue depuis la terrasse fut malheureusement le seul moment positif de notre expérience… une cuisine d un niveau moyen et des quantités très réduites (sauf si vous aimez les feuilles de salades…) le tout pour un prix « touriste » plutôt élevé n aide déjà pas à établir un jugement très favorable… vous rajoutez à ça un service déplorable où l attente entre les plats excède le tolérable (30min pour obtenir un café..), et nous n avons pas eu l occasion d obtenir un dessert puisqu il ne nous a pas été proposé….ayant eu le malheur de prendre l initiative pour obtenir l’addition je me suis fait rabrouer très sèchement d attendre patiemment à la table…

Pour résumer, passez votre chemin. Cet établissement vit (je l espère pas trop longtemps…) sur le dos des touristes aveuglés par un excellent emplacement… je note également que les touristes « non français » bénéficiaient d un bien meilleur traitement…Peut être l’espoir d...
