La Moisson — Restaurant in Carpentras

Honest food businesses like La Moisson are the reason why I love travelling. I've always loved french crêpes and galettes so I knew I had to try it when I came to France.

At first glance their galette reminded me of paper thosai (an indian dish, well-loved back at home in Singapore). I loved the abtractness of their galette's shape, it felt very authentic rather than the millions of pretentious cafés at home that serve pristine looking galettes.

My mum ordered the bacon galette and I got the vegetable (legume) galette. Both were so good, we cleaned our plates. The bacon was very nice and smoky, while the legume galette was heartwarming.

For the sweet crêpe, we ordered the Miel/Lavender something (my french, and my memory is horrid) and it was so interesting! The crêpe was served drizzled with a unique type of honey, it had flower notes in its taste! The more I ate, the better it tasted. I wish I had had more space in my stomach to order the butter-lemon-sugar crêpe.

Not a friendly experience. The owner seemed quite unfriendly and acted as though she didn’t want us to be there. The food was mediocre and expensive. Ob zum Mittag- oder Abendessen ein besonders außergewöhnliches und genussvolles Vergnügen! Die guten Bewertungen können wir bestätigen.

Egal ob herzhafte oder süße Variante, sie alle sind vorzüglich. Kreativer und genussvoller lässt sich in einer Creperie kaum speisen. Dazu ein Getränk, das in Preis-Menge stimmig ist. Der offene Wein ist qualitativ OK und passend zu den Speisen. Sogar Cidres gibt es.

Der Service ist freundlich und man bekommt sogar nach 20 Uhr noch etwas zum Essen. Denn man macht in Sault die Erfahrung, dass die Gastgeber in der Gastronomie wohl schon vor den Hühnern den Tag beenden. Seltsam, woran das wohl liegt, da es gerade zur Lavendelblüthe und im Sommer nicht an Touristen und Radsportler fehlt?

Die Lage direkt im Ort an der Kirche ist leicht abseits. So muss man das Lokal schon bewusst suchen. Einkehr lohnt sich. Immer...
