We were here on a monday afternoon to eat a quick lunch. We ordered our drinks first and wanted to order our food directly afterwards but the waiter ignored us. Then we could order our food and needed to repeat our order three times because god knows where his head was. Then two people out of four in total of our table got their food and the other two people had to wait another 15 mins. until their food arrived. The other two people already finished their meal. Then we gave a notice to the waiter and he answered ignorantly that I should do the waiting. The waiter was incompetent, he was clumsy, forgot every order and tried to play it off with his arrogance. Eine Bistro-Empfehlung für „Dolce Vita“ in der Provence. Es scheint so dass sich hier sehr viel zum Positiven verändert hat und Sault nun eine „neue kleine gastronomische Perle“ hat.

Wir bestellten uns eine großartige Bruschetta, die selbst in Italien so nicht immer zu finden ist und die auf den provenzianischen Geschmack abgestimmt ist. Der Salat geschmackvoll gewürzt und alles mit frischen Zutaten aus der Region. Wir waren uns sicher, dass wir fortführend „testen“ werden, da wir dazu noch ein paar Tage Gelegenheit haben werden. Das Bistro-Angebot an Speisen und Getränken ist überdurchschnittlich. Eine besondere Empfehlung ist ein Eis-Dessert. Einfach seine „Gusti“ wählen. Hochwertiges handwerklich gemachtes Eis von Glaces des Alpes, wie Lavendel- oder Kaffee-Eis (aus Arabica-Bohnen) versüßen den Mittag. Das Eis ist nicht nur ein Eis, sondern ein Genuss. Empfehlung an das Bistro-Team: informiert Eure Gäste etwas mehr zu den Eis-Qualitäten, dann ist keine „normale“ Eisdiele eine Konkurrenz. Es ist schon traurig genug, wenn viele Gäste qualitativ hochwertige Produkte nicht mehr zu schätzen wissen, weil deren „Sensoren“ durch Geschmacksverstärker und Emulgatoren verdorben sind.

Die Lage - Direkt am Platz in Sault zwischen Rathaus und Kirche liegend ist ein Juwel. Der Platz wird von Kastanien und Linden beschattet und Drumherum spielt das Leben und das Licht der Provence mit dem Wind und der Wärme. Zum Bistro hin ist der Platz als Terrasse genutzt. Wer ein Platz findet darf sich glücklich schätzen. Wartende werden es schwer haben, da wer von Genuss und Lage verwöhnt wird, der hat Mühe aufzustehen. Im modernen Bistro innen sitzen ist quasi nur eine Notlösung, doch immer noch besser als nicht einkehren. Schade nur, dass auch hier Abends relativ früh...

The café is on a nice little square with a heaps of small cafés and restaurant. The waiter was far from friendly and did not bother a single smile, simply letting us know the only item available from the menu was the Croque Monsieur and nothing else. No toilets in the establishment either. The croque monsieur was ok, but the service and the absence of toilets only warrants it a 2 stars for me. Especially given the choice of alternatives nearby....
