Barrio Latino — Restaurant in Clermont-Ferrand

If you enjoy Latin foods, and by Latin I mean South American this is THE restaurant to go to.

It is by far the best value for quality, quantity and the price! Everything on the menu is from 5€-18€.

They have dishes from all over South America as well as cocktails and beers.

I loved the service with her Latina accent and how she tried to communicate with me and my poor Spanish. Don’t misunderstand this that she can’t speak French, I was the one who wanted to practice Spanish!

The guacamole for 1 filled up 3 of us sharing it and was super tasty. Me and my husband each had one of the dishes of the day: I had the enchilada with rice and he had the burrito. Good size and taste for 8€ each! Our two friends had the mixed meat dish and the fish soup which they also found to be delicious.

Everyone was so surprised with the quantity and quality for such a cheap price. They were very happy with my choice as I had been here before but just for the nachos.

I would say this is in my top 3 restaurants for clermont and definitely my favourite for tasty South American flavour! We will be coming back and hopefully for my big...

It was simply an abomination. We collectively felt cheated and robbed when we left.

Starters à €38(!): a bowl of nachos with some tasteless and barely discoverable cheese on top, a bowl of soft fries with a frankfurter cut in pieces and a battered matter. And a basket with cheese sticks and empanadas (cold, presumably not thawed properly).

Main: Another bowl of limp fries accompanied by a side of plain white rice, topped off with some onion, tomato and beef cubes. Another dish: the same bed of fries, although for these they must have run out of rice, with bacon cubes on top.

I make it sound a lot better than it actually was, but I want to refrain from using certain lingo that would be the only appropriate way to describe the...

Nous étions des habitués de ce restaurant, c’était auparavant un véritable délice. Mais depuis la reprise par les nouveaux propriétaires, la qualité de la cuisine et du service semble avoir disparu pendant la vente.. Les nouveaux plats ne sont pas du tout appétissants. Nous avons été servis avec des saucisses issues d’une choucroute en boîte présentées comme des « saucisses fumées », des nuggets de chez Lidl réchauffés, des frites molles sorties d’un paquet « McCain Steakhouse » et une salade qui semblait venir d’un self universitaire ! Un plat avec du bœuf contenait à peine 120 g de viande, le reste étant du riz et des frites molles (photo des plats à l’appui). La table voisine a reçu des tacos au poulet tellement secs qu’ils ont dû rajouter du ketchup pour pouvoir les manger... Je ne suis pas du genre à laisser des avis négatifs mais c’est vraiment dommage qu'un restaurant clermontois de qualité a disparu en l’espace de 10 jours seulement depuis le changement de direction. Les photos témoignent de ce que nous avons eu dans nos assiettes, et tout cela avec un service lent, alors qu’il n’y avait à peine 5 tables occupées dont 2 déjà servies. Les nouveaux propriétaires ont gardé le même nom, mais autant le changer si c’est pour dégrader l’image d’un établissement qui proposait autrefois une cuisine remarquable avec des produits de qualité. ...
