The two stars are mainly due to the bad service. We ate yesterday evening on 5th of October at the restaurant and I must admit when we left I felt upset and could not really enjoy the food. The waiter was rude and unhelpful, not like with the other guests and I really do not understand why. Because we did not speak french or german? Because we looked younger than the other guests? The menu was in French and we had questions concerning some dishes. He made zero effort to help us, I even had the impression he was rather annoyed by the fact that we had to explain. My friend ordered sashimi tuna for starter and then he said with attitude "It is raw, not cooked". We said thank you we know. After being so unhelpful I took this as an insult. When I wanted to order some more wine, I was trying to remember which the name of the wine from the list and he only brought the menu after I specifically asked him to. For the food I would say that it was a good effort. The dishes were for sure tasty, and I would give respect for the dessert. It was a dessert with chocolate so it would be for sure tasty, but this one was also interesting! But the pork of may main dish (which costs 30E) was really dry. I understand these things can happen. But when the waiter asked if everything was ok and we told him that my meat was very dry and he sees that I left the most of it, he said just "Ah" and left. Not even I am sorry to hear that. Walked in the minute the restaurant was opened n kindly asked in French for a table for 6. The gentleman smiled back to me n said it’s no problem the table can be ready in anytime. So I said we will come back in 5 minutes just so to get the rest of my family n friends . The moment we came back after 5 mins, the gentleman turned his face totally and told me there is no availability because we didn’t come in right away so he gave tables to others… frankly we were just standing outside reading the menu while waiting everybody to gathered n meanwhile the restaurant only came in with a table of family . Maybe the restaurant is reputed with nice food but I m sure the attitude n service of the restaurant is absolutely far away from any world class ….. very rude and unprofessional experience we had with the gentleman from the restaurant. Bonjour à tous, je tiens de par cet avis remercier chaleureusement tout le personnel de l'établissement La vieille forge. En effet dans le cadre d'une demande en fiançailles, ceux-ci ont été extrêmement réactif et très professionnel. Que ce soit de la prise de réservation par mail très distingué de leur part jusqu'à la demande de fiançailles qui a été positive et accompagné d'un verre de crémant qui plus est (la bague a été déposé par leur soin dans un dessert concocté pour l'occasion). Chaque personnel à son niveau a été très disponible afin d'accéder à mes attentes sur le bon déroulement de cette soirée avec cette envie de rendre ce moment inoubliable. Culinairement parlant, cela a été un sans faute sur le menu découverte 7 plats puis 8 plats, nous avons pu goûter des saveurs excellentes et nos papilles n'en sont pas revenues non plus. Je conseille notamment l'oeuf parfait qui réellement est parfait. Mais tout le reste l'est aussi. Mon repas a été accompagné d'un pinot noir "F" 2018, un véritable plaisir. De plus, les serveurs sont très très professionnels et mise sur une petite touche d'humour très sympathique, nous nous sommes senti de suite à l'aise. Ils conseillent également très bien sur le choix des fromages par exemple. Après ce menu nous étions "calés" mais très agréablement. Le restaurant en lui même est chaleureux et cosy, très calme mais vivant à la fois. Tarifs très bon en adéquation avec la qualités des produits. Pour nous, c'est un sans faute et nous reviendrons bien entendu si l'occasion se présente. Je recommande fortement cet établissement. Merci...
