I recently had the delightful opportunity to share a memorable lunch with my parents at Caveau du Schlossberg, located in the enchanting town of Kaysersberg. This cozy wine cellar, with its intimate ambiance and rustic charm, proved to be the perfect backdrop for our family gathering.
The menu showcased the best of Alsatian cuisine, with standout dishes such as the succulent pork knuckle and flavorful tartes flambeaux. However, it was the Alsatian apfelstrudel and local wines that truly elevated our dining experience to new heights. The apfelstrudel was a scrumptious blend of tender apples, warm spices, and flaky pastry, while the wines showcased the region's unique terroir and winemaking prowess.
The staff at Caveau du Schlossberg were not only attentive but also warm and cheerful. One highlight of our visit was when the waiter, beaming with genuine enthusiasm, serenaded a guest with a traditional happy birthday song as they presented a cake adorned with a sparkling firecracker. It was moments like these that made our experience feel personal and unforgettable.
If you're a traveler with a penchant for fine food and wine, I highly recommend a visit to Caveau du Schlossberg. The combination of delectable Alsatian cuisine, a captivating atmosphere, and heartfelt service will leave you with cherished memories and a desire to return time...

We picked on a superb linguine with langoustines and prawns, and a delectable veal wrapped in cheese, and were very impressed with the quality, freshness, preparation and presentation. Not cheap by any means, but good value for money, and better than one might expect from the rather casual appearance of the place. ...

We were part of a group of 15 on a fixed menu (as we have been elsewhere) that was ordered weeks in advance. Quality of the separately purchased wine options was poor compared to our previous experiences in the village. Location very good, service and food quality could do with improvement. Very disappointing. We are not local guides, just honest tourists. Rather than acknowledge poor performance with an intent to address weaknesses management become defensive...
