La Belle Ostréa — Restaurant in Coutances

Stopped here in town on our way north. We've heard this place has some good oysters, so we sat down for a quick lunch.

It's located on the main square of this small town, just by the sea. Plenty of tables outside, it was a nice sunny day. Got two glasses of white wine, salmon Rillette, a can of sardines and of course oysters.

Everything was delicious. The sardines of really great quality. The salmon rillette was fantastic and the oysters were divine. Best oysters we've had yet in France. They got different sizes, but we came in a little late, so there were "only" No. 3 oysters available. But they were amazing. Surely we'll be back one day to try some others.

I wish there were more places like this on Normandy coast! Very careful choice of local produce, everything is of highest quality, the decor and sitting is pleasant and the owner is welcoming, earnest and kind. I am coming back here on every occasion , since it has opened a few years ago, and it never fails to delight , in very simple and very agréable way;).
