Il castello — Restaurant in Digne-les-Bains

I don’t think we could have ended up at a better place than Il Castello. What looked like our last option turned out to be the literal BEST! Everything was just perfect. The service was amazing, the food was delicious and the restaurant itself was very cozy. The pizza’s were made in a woodoven and despite the oven only baking one pizza at a time, we had our 4 pizzas after 15 minutes and they didn’t dissapoint. We chose to share 4 pizzas with 5 people and that was perfect. We had 2 leftover pieces and they wrapped those for us to take home. The servers were very friendly and happened to speak English besides French wich was a nice suprise when he started explaining about the menu and their ways of baking pizzas. Besides pizza there were a few other options to choose from like duck, salads and burgers. We tried 4 completely different pizzas and they were all perfect. Absolute great value for money, the most soft and fluffy pizza dough ever felt and beyond your wildest dream taste experience. Everything was stellar quality, from the olive starter, the wonderfully dry but still fruity and very good matching white housewine, the kindness during the serving... And please leave some space for the desert! Highly recommendable and very much worth my 5 stars for all the love that was delivered to us...

Entre deux séances cinéma , avec ma compagne, même si elle habite à 10mn de là , nous avons décidé de diner dehors . Nous nous sommes dirigés vers un autre établissement que nous connaissons mais c était fermé . Puis nous sommes allés voir la crèche et en y allant nous avons vu cet établissement dans cette ruelle qui monte , éclairé et nous nous y sommes rendus . Il y a la possibilité d emporter bien entendu mais on peut manger sur place et avec ma compagne c'est ce que nous cherchions . Nous avons été très bien accueillis par les deux jeunes gens tenant cet établissement , et avec le sourire , nous avons été bien conseillé sur les éventuels choix , le lieu est très agréable , la cuisine y est de qualité et ces deux jeunes gens discutent avec vous très agréablement . Que du positif et une adresse pour moi , désormais, incontournable . Nous y retournerons et j' espère pouvoir faire découvrir cet endroit aux amis...
