Courtepaille — Restaurant in Dijon

I'm writing at the beginning what I'll write at the end about this place. DON'T GO!!!!!! The moment we sat down, we started with dirty knives. We ordered 3 children's steak + chips + cola menus and 2 adults steak + chips + 2 beers. What arrived!!! 5 small burgers + chips + ketchup + mayo. We called the waiter and asked. He said this is your order. He brought the menu. He said yes, it's normal. I was about to leave, but my wife stopped me. Anyway, 3 small ice creams and 2 small desserts arrived. The waitress and the manager-like person started acting irritable and strange. He might have said, "Don't come back again, what's the big deal?" because he knew we came from the hotel opposite and from England. I went to pay the bill. He gave me the bill, and guess what? He added 3 Cokes. I asked why. He said a large Coke was extra. I said a children's menu. He said no, large. He handed me the card machine with a strange, arrogant smile on his face. I paid, and he turned and walked away. They don't care about customers. They are thinking people are stupid. They pay once and leave. We took their money. Don't throw your money away. It's a disgrace. I never recommend it. 1 star...

Visited on 7th September, was expecting a good evening meal, however, for 16.95€ I got 2 very small burgers made with cheap beef mince with a small piece of goats cheese sandwiched between them and some fries on the side and that's it. We wanted to have a traditional burger, however we were advised that they had NO burger buns so couldn't have the traditional burger how ridiculous on a saturday evening. I would avoid this place it is not at all worth the money for the shameful portion and poor quality of food it is so over priced and has no atmosphere at all, you would be better off going to burger king over the road. Also, the cutlery was filthy, I asked for mine to be replaced for clean ones and they were, other people in the restaurant were also asking for new cutlery due to theirs being dirty, we observed the waitress trying to locate clean ones on other tables, however she visited over 6 tables and had to have them all replaced. The glasses are also dirty,obviously when they have been taken from the dishwasher they have not been wiped dry and left so were dirty. AVOID This place its not...

Great food, specializing in grilled meats.

I didn't enjoy the duck. It tasted like beef to me, but the proprietor insisted it was duck. It was very tasty beef, so I did enjoy my meal after the initial surprise.

This resto doesn't snub non-French diners. You always know when that's happening because they don't bring you bread and are always surprised, difficult and slow when you ask for une carafe d'eau.

This resto was not that way at all. The bread was fast and quickly refilled, both without asking. The tap water showed up soon after being requested.

The grilled skewers of meat were cooked to perfection and the menu has a handy guide to request the perfect state of doneness.

Very important in France where the French love their beef bloody.

The fraish creamed? cheese and basil appetizer was good and a nice change from pesto. The ouef mayonnaise, I was expecting devilled eggs, but was a hard boiled egg cut in half with a mayonnaise mustard mix spread on top.
