TLDR: This place is only worth it for the vibes — everything else (mainly food and service) is extremely lacking for the high price point of the restaurant. I will not be returning or recommending to my friends, but glad I got to experience it once.

The Service: While the hostess of the restaurant was kind enough to help us shift our reservation back due to transportation delays, the good service stopped there. I ordered a lemon iced black tea, which tasted absolutely horrible (confirmed by another member of my party). When asking the waiter if I could replace my drink given the inability to drink it, he refused, stating that since it was already made that they could not replace it. I was surprised given the supposed caliber of the restaurant that they wouldn’t comply with this simple request, especially given the drink was only €12. The waiter was also standoffish when we did not order a full meal - for context it was a 3:30pm reservation on Tuesday so not typical lunch time and not a busy weekend.

The Food: Once the food arrived, it was fine. Nothing particularly standout. The raw yellowtail was tasty, so would recommend that. The prices were definitely extremely high, but that seems like the norm in St. Tropez so just be prepared to be grossly overcharged here and honestly anywhere else you go.

The Atmosphere: This is honestly the only reason to dish out a single euro to come to this place. It’s on the iconic Pampelonne Beach, which is gorgeous. They have a nice covered area with a very Mediterranean aesthetic and a good DJ (very day party vibe). Just a nice place to sit and enjoy a €25 drink that will probably taste very mediocre. That being said, you can probably find better service and food at the other beach restaurants on Pampelonne, so I would try one of those first...

Byblos is not the same anymore. Service is really bad this summer. Food was okay, nothing special but service really is awful. Nobody smiles in this place. Looks everyone are working mad and unhappy. Took one hour just to get the menu, and they do not come to you at the beach, you have to wave a lot to get their attention. Very slow serving at the beach and the beach boys are arguing between them and they look like trained to treat you badly and not be flexible. Confused, making mistakes and leaving a very bad impression like if there was nobody in charge or no will to be kind at all. Maybe it is cheap and popular service of low standard. Waiters at the restaurant table are mad as well and don’t even look at you when you place te order. Bad explanation about the dishes as well. Even the DJ is with a bad face. The atmosphere was terrible despite de good looking decorations. The sun beds are comfortable but they do not have enough shades for everyone. The beach at this spot is perfect with shallow and calm waters. This place used to be very nice before since I remember, but it seems not to be the same anymore. It’s difficult even to pay the bill. In the las 10 years coming every summer I never had such a a bad experience in Pampelonne Beach. If you are wondering about making a choice between this and another beach club, do not hesitate. Any of them would have better service. I strongly recommend Lá Reserve for the comfort and the high standards, the mood, great food and music are so much better! Have been to Lou-Lou and loved as well but they open only at 11:30. Never coming back to Byblos Beach...

Update in response to their reply: Thank you for adding a third person to the reservation for the beach chairs and for the table (that you couldn’t accommodate). We spoke to our sever at 1:30 on the dot who said we can make our way to the table in no rush. We appeared for our table at 1:40. If you give away tables within 10 minutes, then you will for sure have complaints. You said you gave it away in 20, despite knowing we were there. Nobody said it would be 5-10 minutes, we were told to wait at the bar and after my questioning why you gave our table away, we were told people had just ordered dessert and to wait. We decided to leave. I stand by my original comments below. Let’s be honest in our posts.

Gave our table away! Booked beach chairs. We had reservations for 2 for the beach and a table for lunch. We last minute added a third person and they accommodated us. When it came time for our table (1:30) we asked if we should go right away, they said to take our time. We went for our table at 1:40 and they had no tables. After a little questioning they said “we did everything last minute for you”. Except honor the reservation. We called our fantastic hotel concierge who in turn called them and was told that we showed up late. Staff had a bad attitude from the start anyways, so we were happy to leave. Avoid this place if you’re used to...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5 stars) Our experience at Byblos Beach Club was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Although there was a hiccup with our reservation (which turned out to be 100% the fault of our hotel), the team at Byblos handled the situation with professionalism, warmth, and kindness. Despite the mix-up, they accommodated us immediately, seating us just two rows from the beach and generously providing multiple umbrellas to ensure we were comfortable and shaded on a very hot day. The service was top-tier—attentive without being intrusive—and the atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for: relaxed, stylish, and not overly loud or crowded. Everything from the setting to the energy of the staff made for a perfect beach day. A special shoutout to Ines, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her hospitality, patience, and professionalism truly stood out. From what we learned, she’s in Saint-Tropez on an internship from Tunisia, and wherever she ends up next will be lucky to have her. Highly recommend Byblos Beach Club to anyone visiting Saint-Tropez—elegance without pretension, and service that truly cares. Can’t wait to return!

Cordialement, Mario
