La Voile Sainte-Maxime — Restaurant in Draguignan

I left an average review 3 years ago, and whilst everything I said was true at the time, Google will only let me edit my review rather than post a new one. Gone are the days of lots of staff being very busy and doing nothing. Now there is very slick and attentive service from the car park to the beach and everything in between. The parking attendants are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. The staff on the beach are also very attentive, and no request is too big or small. The waiters in the restaurant are as attentive, and are in complete control, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy yourself. Well done Frank and Stefan. The barman is very talented and creative. The classics are always excellent, but have the house specials because they will not disappoint. The food is delicious, and there are elements which take it to a very special level. There is a very talented team of chefs there. My only small (personal) complaint is that there is no sail left! Other than that, the setting is perfect. P.S. there are a few reviews commenting on the price, but the price that you pay for the day is very worth the day that...

Just had dinner at this beautiful restaurant along the beach in St Maxime. Loved that we could valet our car, the attendant was such a nice guy and he started our La Voile experience on such a happy note. The restaurant is comfy and cozy with lights strung up on high to create a romantic, elegant atmosphere. The wine selection was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Service was very friendly with smiles and attentive wait staff through out. We will definitely visit again before our time in St Maxime is done. Service was terrible, waited almost 2 hours for lunch without any apology or acknowledgement from the waiters. As for the food, the fish was burned and fries were drenched in oil, other dishes (burger, lamb) were ok but for the price very average. At the beach the staff was not going around and serving people, it was hard to even order anything and you had to do it personally at the bar. And they had the audacity to ask for tips upon leaving. Only good thing was atmosphere as they had nice decor. Other than that really terrible all around. Don’t recommend to anyone, there are way better options...
