Le Coelacanthe — Restaurant in Draguignan

I brought my friends here having said what a good restaurant it was (have been once before) and was embarrassed. The starter, fish soup, was incredibly salty - I was unable to eat it and I like my food salty, my friend was horrified as she usually doesn't put much salt in her food. We dipped the croutons in it but couldn't eat it on its own.

We sent it back and instead of apologising we got told by the waiter that that was how it was supposed to be and the chef said there's nothing wrong with it - such arrogance as if we were tourists that never had fish soup before, when I've been in France so regularly for 25 years and had so many fish soups, plus I'm a chef. They didn't remove it from the bill or offer a substitute. I'm quite sure the chef never tasted it.

Although the next 2 courses were their usual standard, honestly the attitude stank and I don't think I'll go back, it's not like there's no choice around there. Francois 1er will get a second visit as that was...

We went to this place recommended by local guide. Food was just amazing, little exaggerated on some spices (mainly turmeric) with the dish to share we took (Poelee de Homard et fruits de mer ax Pennes Rigate). The portions are big and enough to eat for 2 days in a row :-) Suggestion to owners: provide disposable gloves when serving this dish, the tumeric used is a lot and stay for 2-3 days sticking on your hands. Great waiters, providing attention right time, fun and full of joy View on the marina is a plus definitely during sunset Recommended...

Je regarde la carte ... je vois la page des allergènes, étant allergique au céleri . Je trouve ça avenant mais pas prévenant ! Je commande un plat... une bourride façon bouillabaisse... ça sent très très bon et à l'air délicieux !!!! On me le sert !!!! Mon conjoint me dit : as tu demandé si il y a du céleri dedans ? Non !! Donc j'appelle la serveuse ... va se renseigner et me dit que la soupe en contient un petit peu ! Je lui explique que je ne peux pas manger mon plat ! Elle me répond très sympathiquement en m' ayant proposé une solution : " nous ne pouvons pas le remettre en vente " (me voilà rassurée) ! Elle m'invite donc à choisir un autre plat . Je choisis le risotto aux noix de st jacques ! Très très bon !!! Elle me demande si je veux récupérer la bourride . J'ai été étonnée ! J'ai donc récupéré ma bourride que j'ai donné à un ami qui a dit que c'était une tuerie !!!!! ( nous l'avons vu le lendemain) Résultat : le plat m' a été facturé !

Bref !

Ami(e)s restaurateurs , Il serait préférable de préciser en face du plat l'allergène utilisé ! Ou d' y apposer une astérisque ou un signe concernant un eventuel allergène !

Cela m'est déjà arrivé... on m'a changé mon plat sans me le facturer! Et le chef s'est excusé !

Mis à part tout était très bon !

Je recommande à 100 % !!!

Mais pour ce petit souci je mets 3 étoiles !

Car mon allergie au céleri m'est malheureusement mortelle ! Je pense que la vie d'un client vaut bien plus qu'une...
