A nice small boutique hotel above a restaurant cum pub on the beach at Gravelines 15 min drive from Dunkirk.
We stayed here for a night during our annual wine shopping trip to France. We drove to this hotel from Dunkirk on a Friday evening.
The hotel rooms are in 2nd floor and attic. Think there are about 12 rooms, roughly 8 facing the sea. The hotel in right on the beach meaning you get uninterrupted view of the huge beach the the sea that has retracted quite far away.
The rooms are fairly small. The double bed was in fact a queen bed, so not really suitable for 2 healthy adults.
The breakfast provided was very basic, no hot foods provided. Just tea/ coffee along with a tray with croissants, fruit juice, fruit puree, yogurt, jam pots, baguette and cheese.
Another downside is they don't speak mostly, so he armed for Google...

British people? Our...

En route walked passed a restaurant that looked good but on return we spotted this little gem with a perfect sea view and welcoming staff. A table by the window was made available the simple but ample menu was a delight, my wife had the asciete de pescheur and I had the moules Roquefort. A bottle of wine, water and a beer completed the meal together with a complimentary taste of another local cheese used in one of the other moule dishes very good value for money trying hard to find a reason to try somewhere...
