What a truly wonderful dining experience this was! My Mother and I decided that we should have a little treat for my 30th Birthday and I had my eye on this place for quite some time. It is a cozy place filled with lots of pretty little details and an open plan kitchen run by a small, yet dedicated and professional team.

We started with some local craft beers that were exactly what I was after and as a non French speaker, Mike (the co-owner and server) was very kind and offered detailed and passionate explanations as to what was on offer. We opted for 3 courses in the end and began with a very tasty Ox tongue salad and a Trout egg and Spinach emulsion that was both creative and tasty, with flavors obviously carefully considered. For our Entrees I had Veal with a coffee risotto and my mother had a white Stone fish that was delicate and perfectly cooked. I had my doubts about coffee and risotto and my curiosity was piqued, but it was absolutely fantastic! Finally, to finish, we shared probably the best dessert I have ever had - a deconstructed Chocolate Mousse of sorts. I asked Mike if he had a dessert wine he could pair with it and he listed 3, suggesting a rare Port (of the "rotting on the vine" variety - quite sweet) and it was absolutely the right thing to pair with the rich chocolate of the dessert.

Both my Mom and I were very impressed with every part of the meal and service and will absolutely be returning again. Bravo Mike, his lovely French partner and the rest of the team! Perfect for that special date or intimate...

We visited beautiful Figeac and ate at La Racine et la Moelle twice. We would dream of such a place with so much dedication for food close to our home: A cosy, laid-back atmosphere, and incredible food at very fair prices, in a beautiful little restaurant with an open kitchen. It is run by a very friendly and highly motivated couple. She is the chef, he is the waiter, but a chef himself, so he certainly knows what he is talking about. They change the menu sometimes twice a day depending on what is freshly available. The first time I tried the fish option, which was fresh cod: Pavé de cabillaud roti, boulhour au bouillon de légumes, blettes & ocas grillés, harissa. The second time I went for "Poitrine de cochon crousty-fondante, fricassée de pdt grenailles & choux de bruxelles, jus corsé au tandoori" Both plates were amazing, and so were the starters and the wine the waiter recommended. Also - a big plus in France - the waiter speaks English very well, is helpful and very friendly. And what my girlfriend liked a lot, they have nice Veggie options available on request. Make sure you ask for those as they are not...

My party and I walked into the restaurant without a reservation, and they were happy to seat us. On the menu, there were 3 choices for each course (entrée, main dish, dessert). I ordered the Bruschetta as an appetizer, the Poulet Rôti (Roasted Chicken) as a main course, and the Soupe de Tapioca (Tapioca Pudding) for dessert. The Bruschetta was served with fresh vegetables and delicious toppings, the perfect start to a culinary experience. The Poulet Rôti was perfectly cooked, full of juice, and had an amazing sweet potato purée, along with amazing mushrooms and aubergines. The Tapioca Pudding was out of the world, it was supplied with impeccably cooked strawberries and a dollop rasperry sorbet. The tapioca pudding had the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the other elements of the dish. I cannot stress to you enough how good this restaurant is. The other dishes that my party ordered also looked amazing. Every dish was thoroughly thought out and exceeded expectations! This restaurant is a 5 Star all the...

A relatively new restaurant in Figeac, but well worth a visit. It is run by a young couple who are dedicated and really know what they are doing. It is a bistrot with a relaxed and happy atmosphere where the food is of the highest quality. It was perfect for a good lunch with great friends.

Lovely place with fantastic food. Very busy on a Tuesday night so probably busy all nights. Gave excellent local wine recommendations and were very helpful and supportive due to the fact that our French sadly is non-existing so helped us to explain the menu in English for us. Merci!
