Cycling through the region we selected L'Ardoise for dinner. Located on the side of the road (but not noisy) and offering both indoor and outdoor terrace dining. The interior is quite contemporary with one section dedicated to a large wine collection Welcome was friendly and we were seated directly at an authentic wine barrel on the outdoor terrace From the menu (which also included a selection of shared plate options) we selected pita bread with pulled lamb as well as marinated trout......both exquisite taste....enhanced with a nice draught beer and glass of local white wine Definitely a venue we will return and highly recommended to those after a good culinary experience with friendly and efficient service

Nice place, quick service, good service, good wine. However my Mac n cheese was not as good: taste was average, ham didn’t go very well with macaroni and the dish lacked of enough amount of cheese (there was very little cheese). This is my opinion though other people might feel otherwise. I didn’t finish my mac n cheese and I wouldn’t order it again.

We've just had a really lovely meal here whilst on holiday at the nearby Verdon Park campsite.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the waitress who looked after our table was so lovely with our kids, encouraging them to speak French and just generally being so attentive.

The food was fantastic, a great mix of interesting and inventive choices for the adults along with a really good value kids menu. They both went for the breaded chicken with chips...an option that could easily just be thrown together but they were delighted with the really good quality chicken strips with delicious home cooked fries.

The place has a great atmosphere, with a wine and tapas theme (next door and connected to the restaurant is a more casual wine and tapas room). Lots of lovely and interesting dishes on the menu. We decided to go for the main menu rather than the tempting tapas options.

I had a very tasty entrecote steak which was cooked perfectly and came with those same lovely fries that the kids had. My wife's meal was the star attraction though. The tuna "tutaki" was a seared rare tuna steak, cut into cubes with a sesame crust and edamame bean salad with fragrant rice side dish....it was exceptional.

Service was friendly and attentive....regular free top ups of table water and some olives on arrival without asking....just some really nice welcoming touches that make a meal really special. The rose wine was good value and really lovely.

We were so pleased we popped in for a meal on one of the final evenings of our holiday and felt that we should leave a review to share what a nice place to...

This place has potential but it is ran buy a bunch of amateurs that have no business running a restaurant. If you are willing to spend 3 hours waiting for your dishes, with no bread, no water and repeat visits from different staff members that offers nothing but excuses and blaming you for everything, go for it and enjoy the ride. When someone orders 1 appetizer, the expectation is perhaps that the main courses are fired as soon as the appetizer arrives at the table.... Apparently it is the customer job to notify the team when the next course must be prepared.. which according to them can table up to 2 hours.. this was pure comedy... and the owner/ manager, an angry young lady with black hair needs to take a chill pill and actually listen. Reading at other reviews it seems as this is a common problem. In a town with many great options, this should not be on top of your list... On and last but not least of 3 out of 4 of us in our group got very sick that night later in...
