A beautiful hotel restaurant let down by service mismanagement Staying at the Villa Castellane we selected this restaurant for lunch. The restaurant has an attractive contemporary interior design with a beautiful well equipped kitchen, fitted out with high end furniture and offers both indoor & outdoor terrace seating Welcome was poor (in fact no welcome) and we selected ourselves a table on the terrace. Taking the order for pre lunch drinks, presenting the menu, taking the food order and serving the food and beverages took way too long in particular considering the small number of diners at that time of the day. From the menu we ordered tuna tataki (but finally received salmon tataki....explained as a misunderstanding by the waiter?) and a veal tartar, and as dessert we shared some icecream All food served was of good quality and very well presented (Compliments to the kitchen crew!) As many others have reported very poorly managed restaurant.chef chatting on the floor leaving one young guy to do the work .Matre D nice but ineffective.Unlike the personally owned restaurants we visited locally no one seems to be in charge. Starters were ok but main courses poor Risotto was just rice with vegetables ,steak was tasteless and of poor quality.Monkfish still had membrane and some bones. Notre premier déjeuner (plat - dessert) du lundi 2 juin nous avait enchantés. Le repas était délicieux et copieux. Notre second déjeuner du 11 juin nous laissés sur notre faim, si on peut dire. L'attente était longue malgré qu'il n'y avait que 7 clients (5 en terrasse et nous à l'intérieur). Le poisson était bon, mais de portion très réduite, contrairement à l'épeautre qui était présent en quantités. La viande de porc était sèche et difficile à couper. Pour ce qui est du pain, on nous a servis des minuscules petits pains carbonisés, aussi durs que la pierre, impossibles à manger. Nous avons demandé à la serveuse si on pouvait avoir du pain normal et mangeable. On nous a répondu "ce n'est pas possible, il faut d'abord cuire le pain car il est fait sur place". Donc nous n'avons jamais eu de pain. Concernant l'expresso commandé en même temps que le dessert, il n'a jamais été servi. Finalement la serveuse nous a offert la carafe d'eau pour s'excuser du désagrément causé.
