Da Gigi — Restaurant in Grasse

The most disgusting Italian dish I have ever had. I’m not even sure they are Italian. I have lived in Italy so I can tell a good risotto from a bad one. What they served us was disgusting mushy rice flooded with water and gooey cheese. I complained as they had charged me 36€ for this horrible thing worse than canteen food. I asked them to tell the chef what he is cooking is not risotto. They manager just nodded and said ok. He charged me the full amount and asked us to leave !!! I got home 5 minutes a go and I’m still hungry. Please don’t be fooled by the name and Italian feel the of the place. There are 5 young guys who don’t seem to be Italian and hygiene wise it is applauding. They don’t care about customer satisfaction. They are fast in regards to payment being made and for you to leave to free the table for their next victim. Quality of food is horrible. They are close by the sea so seafood risotto should have fresh seafood however I can admit with certainty that I tasted mold in the prawns they served in the risotto. One of the cutest pizza restaurants I have been to. Very pleasant servers that immediately seat you and take your order. The pizzas arrive within minutes, and the chef comes out to help the servers. Truly a special experience as we see the love in the pizzeria. I am often a problem as I have to ask to remove animal products from my food, but the servers are so nice and gladly help me choose my pizza. The pizza I ordered (vegetarian sans frommage) was extravagant. I was given spicy oil to enhance the already amazing taste, and I was more than satisfied with this experience. The only complaint is that I could not eat 17000 pizzas. My family ordered quatre frommage and salmon pizza. Both were filled to the brim and well executed. We had an amazing lunch with really sweet servers, the chef was very attentive and nice. The hygiene was top-notch. Don't even get me started on the view. I highly, highly recommend...

My friend Peggy recommended this place so we went for Sunday lunch. We had the gambas, a rather nice rosé, and splendid desserts. The location is magnificent, the food gorgeous but, above all, the service provided by Roxanne (she should be on stage) and her brothers was so hospitable. Can’t wait to go again.
