La Cabane Villeneuve-Loubet — Restaurant in Grasse

We had reserved a table at this venue.

When we arrived, and they checked the list of reservations, we were not on it.

We had to sit outside, in the open. It was chilly.

During our disastrous evening we requested blankets four times. Eventually we had one given to us, then, a second. But, this was well into an hour of our dining experience.

We ordered a couple of Entrees and drinks.

The starters were, it must be acknowledged, superb.

Then it went wrong.

After 45 minutes, I asked where our main courses were! Apologies and "It is coming, two minutes," we were told.

We asked a passing waiter again, around 15 minutes later, after another couple who had been there no more than 15 minutes, were given their food.

There was no apology.

A waitress asked if we want another bottle of wine. I asked for a free bottle. None was forthcoming.

We had also asked for a single Pina Colada, early on. This took half an hour and two requests for it to come.

They delivered this drink after a third request was made. Then, after around five minutes, they came with another two cocktails to fulfil our earlier requests for the same one!

Another ten or fifteen minutes, and hour and a half after our starter, a further table were served their food after their arrival ten minutes earlier.

We got up to leave.

Immediately three or four people tried to prevent us from leaving, including a customer.

They threatened to call the police. We asked them to do so.

Three of us left. The fourth person eventually agreed to pay for the wine and drinks.

As he was doing so, our food was ready, he was told.

Either the owner or manager apologised to the bill payer, saying, "Yes, you are right, we are sorry, but, we are short of staff," it was about a third full. How they will cope during the summer, I have no idea?

The rest of our party, three in all, waited outside.

In summary:

They had not a record of our reservation, we had to sit in the cold, without blankets that were promised on three occasions; We had to wait for an hour and a half and our main meals were not yet ready; The main waiter and owner/manager, never came to update us, apologise, offer free drinks during the lengthy wait; It is clear that the order was not delivered to the kitchen, via their app, until we asked where our main courses were for a third time.

If you look at the reviews of this venue, there are many 1 star reviews around the theme of extremely poor service and long waits.

I highly advise you to steer clear...

The restaurant is in front of the Sea. There is public Parking. The Ambiente is very cosy and we liked it. You can bring your Dog and they offer Water. 12 Eur for a cocktail in this place is totally okay. Unfortunately I needed to ask for water and also put this by myself in my glass. Well we ordered and I choose the catch of the day which they present before cooking. Really nicely. But then a mistake happens. About 30 % dropped on the floor while preparing it on the table. I didn't get asked for a new one just that the piece can get my dog and I get a good price. Well I thought okay. After finishing we got offered a shoot for the little mistake. We refused and asked for the Bill. No discount a d the man came directly with the machine for the cards and I just checked it and asked to speak the manager. After explaining the situation he offers me a new fish. Well I told him it's a little late. We got about 40% discount which was okay for me. I paid without tips as I felt was a bad service there. The waiter took just the money don't even say goodbye or thank you.

Very disappointing handling. Next time ask maybe what I want before make assumptions...

I’ll have you know I’m an expert skier.

This dining experience was really remarkable.

In an area with many great dining options this one was next level.

First make a reservation because even on a week night they are fully booked luckily they have great parking.

The views are great overlooking the beach. Some people smoke on the beach hut that’s the case with like every restaurant here.also the decorations are very tropical.

The hostess abs waitress were amazing. Ours was a blonde woman who worked in Montreal in the past she was great.

The place is also very child friendly our toddler loved every part of it.

The bar was on point one of the best Long Island iced teas u have had in my life was in France and I used to go out in Long Island when in college. Mojito was solid too. I didn’t expect this because I saw the old fashioned with Jack Daniels and that is disgusting imop.

The fish was perfect my wife got the catch of the day some sole 600g and the butter sauce was great. I got tthe cod which was amazing but the side effects was meh (some French thing).

The appetizer the mussels with some sort of pesto sauce was out of this world
