My wife and I were in St. Paul de Vence and were looking for a lunch spot. We wanted out of the over-priced, tourist places in St. Paul, so we looked a bit away from town. Le Brasier had good reviews except for some people who complained that the menu is not in English. Really? When French people are in the U.S., do they expect our menus in French? Of course not! Why are some Americans such jerks!
When we walked in, we were greeted by a lovely lady, Silvie. She gave us options of where to sit and was very gracious and accommodating. Silvie and the other lovely lady that took care of us spoke wonderful English and were happy to explain/translate anything on the menu. Plus we used Google translate to fill in the blanks when they weren't at the table.
We ordered two large salads--the compagnarde salad and the tiede de gambas (prawns) salad. OMG, they were large, fresh, and delicious. Honestly, two of the best salads we've had in a long time. Neither one of us finished everything, but we wanted to. We managed to squeeze in one scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream between the two of us. It was also excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant when in St Paul de Vence or in the Vence area. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you you Silvie and the other lovely lady that took excellent care of us. We are sorry we didn't get your name....
