When walking through the market square in Vence, your eye is immediately drawn to this beautiful mansion which was the last home of Polish author Witold Gombrowicz, and today serves as a fascinating museum of his life and work. Even though I arrived almost at closing time, I was warmly welcomed by Pani Katarzyna, who provided a wonderful overview of the museum and life of Gombrowicz. She also very kindly offered to stay late so I could have time to fully explore. I learned a lot and my reading list is now a bit longer! The museum itself is state of the art and multilingual, with a terrific interactive audio guide and very well curated multimedia displays. I wish every museum was as good as this one!
