Pane E Vino — Restaurant in Grasse

I visited this cafe to pick up a pizza for takeaway. It was a very hot day, so while waiting, we sat at one of the indoor tables and took a couple of glasses that were already placed there—not from any self-service area. A staff member then came over and told us we weren’t allowed to use the glasses because our order was for takeaway.

I found this response unnecessarily unfriendly. We were simply trying to stay comfortable while waiting, and using the glasses already set on the table didn’t seem unreasonable. Even if there’s a policy, it could have been explained with a bit more courtesy and common sense.

Unfortunately, the experience left a bad taste—and not just because of the service. The pizza itself was just average, nothing particularly memorable. Overall, it wasn’t the warm or welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for, and I’m not...

Nuggets on a Caesar salad isn’t something I thought I would ever see.

Instead of saying they didn’t have any chicken left for the Caesar salad, we were given chicken nuggets on top of a Caesar salad. When we asked the waiter about them he tried telling us that is what they normally do and the chef had made them by hand. Although it was obvious from the shape they were frozen nuggets normally used for a kids menu.

There is no way they would have said or even tried the same thing with a French person.

They reluctantly changed the salad, but a replacement goats cheese salad took a good 30mins to arrive, by which time everyone else at the table had finished their meal.

By far the worst I’ve ever been treated in a restaurant and would not recommend. Way over priced too.

One of my favorite places to eat in Antibes, especially for lunch on a sunny day. It is among the few places to dine near the sea with outdoor seating. Watch a game of pétanque and people watch...plus you can bring your dog if you eat on the patio. We like the artichoke salad, a little different and delicious. Simply one of the best fritto misto entrees as well. A small reasonable and very good wine list. The waiter alsways has great suggestions for wine. Plus, a large clean restroom....
