A fantastic experience! We were looking for lunch on our anniversary and happened on the Cafe de France without planning. Atmosphere was lovely; full of happy people genuinely enjoying good food and conversation.
A short but varied menu written on the board (5 choices of main, including a vegetarian option). The food was really excellent. Traditional-seeming dishes were made unconventional with interesting details, without being pretentious. Everything was beautifully cooked and well presented.
We were also served with politeness and consideration. I was particularly impressed by the way the waiter habitually knelt down to take orders; such a great way to communicate better. He also took the time to explain dishes properly and was very patient with my limited French.
The price was exactly as quoted on the menu plus the standard (included) service charge.
No children’s dishes available but my child enjoyed the fish plat du jour, and some of my delicious duck breast.
For me a treat, not everyday! Main courses for 3, plus desserts and drinks came to just over €100...
