L'Espérance Alpe d'Huez — Restaurant in Grenoble

Creative, classy food with high-quality, farm-to-table ingredients, absolutely delicious and very beautifully presented. Particularly my dessert was a optical highlight worthy of exposition in a gallery (while also tasting incredibly good). Wheras the wine is too pricey, the value for money for the food is just great. Ambience is nice with beautiful views and elegant decor, but it's a little cramped (I am quite tall, I know, but I actually had problems getting up and sitting down as tables and benches were so close and there wasn't much room to move them). Service was super fast, competent and very efficient. However, I did not feel as relaxed as I would have wished to because at any time, different waiters rushed past and around the tables... super attentive, but a bit more time between the meals, more discretion and better walking routes (not making it feel like a service highway) would have contributed to a more Zen experience befitting the great food. However, even taking this criticism into account, a five star rating...

We were extremely disappointed with the restaurants - 3 families having stayed in the hotel for 10 days: poor breakfast with limited choice; one day coffee was over at 9.30 am, another day no fruit and so on. the dinner (multiple times) was really average.
