Le Bambou Vert — Restaurant in Grenoble

I went in for a lunch special and was pleased. For 10.50€, an appetizer, entree, and dessert. What really stood out for me were the pork spring rolls. It was just me, but the order consisted of 4 crunchy rolls (nems in French) with dipping sauce and lettuce leaves and mint to wrap the rolls in. The lettuce and mint really added to the taste. Then, a nice portion of tender caramel pork and white rice. Dessert choices weren’t anything special, but coffee was an option, which was nice. I could have stopped at the spring rolls and been happy. The lady who served me was very nice and smiling the whole time. I would go there again. June 17, 2019 - And I did come again and liked it even better than before! I had exactly the same thing as last time and enjoyed it a lot. The spring rolls were hot and crunchy, and I had forgotten about the lettuce and mint and was really happy to see them again and of course used them to wrap my spring rolls in. Disclaimer: we vroegen of het mogelijk was om vegan te kunnen eten. Zoniet zochten we uiteraard verder, maar de serveerster gaf aan dat het kon.

We waren met twee en kozen beide het vegetarische menu (15 euro pp). Als voorgerecht kregen we elk vier loempia's met sojasaus, het andere voorgerecht was er niet meer. Als hoofdgerecht kregen we vermicelli met groenten, gesneden loempia's en (ter vervanging?) sojasaus voor de ene en rijstnoedels met tofu en broccoli in een zoetige saus voor de ander. Voor dessert kozen we beide lichees. We waren een beetje teleurgesteld in het hoofdgerecht. Het vermicelligerecht was niet echt bijzonder gekruid of smaakvol. De gesneden loempia's met sojasaus, nadat ik die als voorgerecht had, waren niet echt tof. Doordat het voorgerecht veranderd was, was dat misschien gewoon een ongelukkige combinatie. Het rijstnoedelgerecht had daarentegen een smaakvolle saus, maar niet bijzonder veel groenten of tofu.

Ze weten duidelijk wat ze doen. Ik denk wel dat de vegetarische optie eerder een optie is om inclusief te zijn en het restaurant zich daar niet op richt.

De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en vlot. Alles samen niet duur...

Nice price and very good food. They have a very interesting menu with a lot of interesting options for a reasonable price.

We ordered the Ha kao and the Shui mai, the Gyoza au porc, the duck soup and the pho bo. They were all very good. Definitely coming back to try...
