It’s our most catastrophic experience in France ever, especially in a restaurant with so many Michelin guide. There is a good reason, why they are all received before 2018.
The food: I got the menu Pont m. Both the entrée and the main course simply weren’t delicious. It’s weird to mix the lukewarm croquette with cold boring salad. I can make the egg and asparagus better at home. The panna cotta tasted of nothing. The fish didn’t taste of anything either. It was served in such small portion. I literally had to eat something afterwards. The snails turned out to be the best part of the whole dinner. The beef tartar also was seasoned strangely. The salad was nothing special. I never saw this thin slices of cheese before. For 11 Euro it’s really not worth it. The bread was dry and lacked of wheat flavor.
We were also not pleased with the service. It took more than half hour to get the first course. The other table got their main course after 10 minutes?! The restaurant was pretty empty when we asked for the bill. But it took another 30 minutes to get it. The waitress rather organized the wine glasses than bring us the check.
So the dinner was waiiiiiiit - eat below-average food - waiiit - eat another substandard food - waiiiiiiiit.
Never had anything like this in any other...
Read moreWe visited Wissembourg for a weekend trip, and my friend booked this restaurant for dinner. The location is very convenient, close to the town center, and our table offered a pleasant view of the small river through the glass window. I had a three-course menu: the veal starter was tender and flavorful, the duck breast main course was served slightly rarer than medium (I was not asked about doneness, and it was a bit undercooked for my taste), and the cheese platter for dessert was enjoyable, especially the goat cheese. My friend chose foie gras as a starter, steak as the main course, and ice cream for dessert — a more classic selection. We also ordered a bottle of red wine based on the staff’s recommendation, which paired nicely with the dishes, and were offered an apéritif as a welcome gesture. Overall, the service was attentive and friendly, with special mention to the lady in the floral dress who enthusiastically introduced the wines and menu to us. A pleasant dining experience with...
Read moreunfortunately I can only confirm the recent feedback from other guests. we have visited multiple restaurants recommended by michelin and this was by far the worst. The bread does not taste fresh. Our starter was a soup that lacked taste and depth. I had lamb...never ever should lamb be served as well done. The ratatouille was more like mushed vegetables and the potatoes hardly noticeable on the plate.
On thr positive side the service was very nice and the location with view of the river is top. If they get the food up to an acceptable level I could understand the michelin recommendation otherwise...
