La Mirabelle — Restaurant in Haguenau-Wissembourg

Been at the La Mirabelle this week on a short trip to France while visiting my dads hometown just across the border in Germany. Luckily it was still warm enough to sit outside and the 5 of us all enjoyed the tarte flambee of different varieties. The salad bar was kinda meh, I think they could improve on that, the tarte flambee or Flammkuchen as we call it was very good though. The prices, both for food and wine are reasonable, I would debate the salads though. The surroundings of the restaurant looks very old fashioned, the restaurant itself is very modern style, but the Flammkuchen are made in an oven fuelled with wood so the quality of the food is excellent. I've been to Alsace frequently about 10 years ago and the Flammkuchen served at the La Mirabelle ranks among the best I have eaten on the tips to France. I would highly recommend visiting during summer season, personally I am not so sure if the interior is as great during colder months but the food will easily make up for it. Nice restaurant with its own unique vibe of French culture. The staff is very helpful if you have some difficulties with the menu or any dish. They offer some delicious food, Traditionalle was the pizza which I tried with an alteration to bacon as chicken, and it was made in wood oven pizza. Thinnest crust with the cottage cheese. They have accessible washrooms and kid friendly place. The restaurant was opened till 2:30pm which made it more convenient for tourists to not miss the lunch (as almost all other restaurants closes by 1:30 or so) We didn't have reservations made and it was completely packed which made us wait for 10 mins...

Начиналось все хорошо. Место интересное. Приветливая официантка быстро принесла меню и напитки. Заказали разные пиццы и я себе фламмкухен "Munster". Второй фламмкухен заказали яблочный и попросили принести позже (что бы не остыл, да и на стол он там уже не поместился бы). Выбор блюд был обусловлен тем, что в зале стояла печь, в которой их готовили. Еду принесли быстро - минут через 15. Одна пицца и фламмкухен были отмечены в меню символом ресторана "избранное", поэтому ожидалось, что то особенное. Но... Фламмкухен средненький и даже сыр с непонятным названием его не вытягивал. Пицца тоже не "огонь" - тесто хорошее, но начинка какая то "пресная", в ней явно не хватало специй (каких-нибудь травок). Т.е. еда на слабенькую четверочку. Ни во время еды, ни когда мы уже все доели, к нам никто из официантов не подошел (хотя ресторан был полупустой). Официантка, что принимала заказ, вовсе куда то пропала. Мы ждали ее больше 5 минут. Она пришла в зал, но к нам не подошла. Позвали. Она бросила дежурную фразу "Десерт? Кофе?". Мы сказали "нет", т.к. заказанного яблочного фламмкухена было бы нам достаточно. Официантка ушла, но вместо фламмкухена она принесла счет и снова ушла. Даже не спросила "карта или наличные?". Фламмкухена в счете не было. Я округлил счет до кратного 10 и заплатил наличными. Даже 1.5-2€, что я добавил к счету, было жалко там...
