1 star, would give zero stars but it won't let me, is for hospitality and service, as we never ate there. From the other reviews looks like we are not alone in our judegement. We booked a table for 6 in the morning when we went for bread for 9pm that night as we were off on a boat trip to Ile D'aix. When we got there the lady who I had booked the table with called over a man who explained they could not serve meat or fish. No explanation just that. So, as we speak French, enquired why and they had an electrical problem. So we sat down and asked for menus to see what we could have but no one wanted pizza, as that what was all there was really. So we told them we were going to check out another restaurant but would be back in a few minutes if the other restaurant a 2 minute walk away could not cater for us. The other restaurant were rude and said no as we had to book even though there were a number of tables free. So we quickly walked back to Le Moulin resigned to pizzas and sat down. We were given menus and whilst choosing the man came out and said they had decided to shut the kitchen because we had left first time around. Absolutely rubbish. He apologised but he may as well have laughed at us for the way he said it. They were still serving food and taking orders. French people - you have a beautiful country but you need to match it with your service levels. Remember where a lot of your trade comes from. Poor, in fact very poor and we will never go back to Le Moulin which is a shame as we go every year to Le Bois Plage and have had good times at Le Moulin but assume under different management. Usually have a couple of meals there and drinks after bike rides but we didn't spent a centime there this year. Au...
Read moreWent with my whole family and it was the best night of our holiday so far. The service was absolutely top class, a true example of what hospitality should be.
The food was obviously incredible, not to mention the very well curated wine list. A must visit for anyone nearby to this top tier restaurant. My family had a delightful evening, we were able to sit around afterwards and were not at all rushed to leave.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Update: 1 year later. Everything above still applies. Went with just my partner, will likely be returning with the whole family. Please make...
Read moreUpdate August 2022: went there, 5 guests, including a 9 yo. Good food and staff were very friendly, smiling, and looked happy to be there.
Pizza were good and large, salads very tasty am told, and huge too, and the fish and chips for the kids were apparently a hit :)
It was very busy that evening, despite end of season, and a booking is recommended. It has come a long way in 5 years!
Decent food but terrible service.
Plats acceptables mais...
