Le Rempart — Restaurant in Langres

🍷🥂 we stopped at Langres on our way south along the French canals. Looking around for an evening meal we came upon Le Rempart. Looking at the menu outside we decided to go in. So glad we did as our meals were just what we needed. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the cheese sauce was so good I asked for more. The trout was moist and wild trout not farmed and the cabbage side dish was something we had not come across before. 😋 The best Irish coffee for a long time!!

Disappointing. Salad starters were served in chipped and badly cracked bowls. Caesar dressing was bland. Chicken in the Caesar was definitely fried in oil used for fish and tasted distinctly of this. The pasta parcels for main were inadequately drained and had a watery bite. Could have been hotter too. The English language version of the menu was full of errors. Don't do it if you can't...

Don't waste your time. Telephone booked this place a month or so ago, all confirmed. Arrived with our party of 7 and they had no record of us. Unhelpful and rude staff who rolled their eyes at us, did not care, no appologies. Had read bad reviews about this place but shrugged them off, wish i had listend now.
