An exceptionally friendly and authentic, busy, Italian restaurant clearly loved by the locals. So so good we came back again on a Monday night as well. O n Saturday, Staff greeted and seated us then took time to explain menu items and options for wine (all great) in English. APERITIF: Negroni with a pasta "straw" - brilliant.
ENTREES: Veal Tonnato, came with a superb garlic flavoured base, the consistency of hummus, of which the last bits where devoured with the also excellent fresh baguette from a local boulangerie. Zucchini Flower: deep-fried and stuffed with ricotta. We've only had these in a tempura batter previously and this was different but surprisingly tasty.
Main Plats: Pasta ! - Rigatoni with fresh truffle - excellent al dente pasta with a divine creme sauce - very generous portion! More Pasta !! : Spaghetti Putanesca - a supreme collaboration of flavours from the tomatoes to the olives to the anchovies -the best I can recall having. Again, very generousnportion size and more baguette was NOT required but ... I had to mop up that sauce.
Wine: The Venturini Valpolicella Classico was a classic pairing for tomato-based pasta and worked well with the Truffle dish as it is light, fresh, and has delightful sour cherry notes.
Deserts: Are you kidding ??? They probably have a lovely selection but we needed to walk in the Lille 10pm twilight to help diminish the self inflicted feast we had just enjoyed.

Read moreI had a wonderful dinner at Autour de Vous, and it’s easily one of the best Italian dining experiences I’ve had in Lille. The place has a relaxed yet lively ambiance, with friendly staff and a kitchen that clearly knows its craft.
We started with razor clams, which were beautifully seasoned and fresh. For mains, the seafood linguine was light, garlicky, and full of flavor, while the sausage pasta was hearty and comforting with just the right touch of spice and cheese. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared.
And I can’t forget the crème brûlée - perfectly caramelized on top, silky underneath, and a sweet ending to a flavorful meal.
What made the evening even more memorable was the service - truly exceptional. Each person who served us took time to explain the dishes, guided us through the menu with patience and enthusiasm, and helped us make great choices. Their passion for the food and genuine hospitality really stood out.

The mains, tortellini stuffed with cheese with a truffle sauce and spaghetti with a seafood sauce (mussels, salted fish and octopus) were bad.
The tortellini was not well made and could have been shop bought. We didnt finish this dish.
The spaghetti was in a tomato sauce with salted fish, mussels & octopus. There was no salted fish visible in the sauce and the mussels didnt appear to have been cleaned. The tomato sauce was very gritty. The body of the octopus was very tough. After a couple of mouthfuls, this dish was left.
The waiters tried to avoid coming to our table when they saw we had left the food. They did not try to rectify the situation or offer any apology.
